Team defense overall was not excellent but, if I remember correctly, for the first time this season was consistent throughout the game. It psychologically helped, of course, that the opponent’s shooting was atrocious. Only once, after we went up by 14 midway through the third quarter, there was some complacency, things became messy for a couple of minutes, and Orlando went on an 8-0 run. Thibs took a timeout and things were fixed.

Brunson was great in the fourth quarter, was the best player on the floor by a mile and wasn’t going to let the Knicks lose. Just some incredible handle from the captain there at the end.

Maybe I’m hallucinating but I could have sworn I saw Mikal Bridges really moving his feet and playing some quality man defense on at least a few occasions. In general, when Mikal is having a good game it seems like we are tough to beat.
