Now he’s the dominant on-ball guy on the team, average shot distance is the highest of his career, his assisted basket percentage is back where it was in his Knick days, and his scoring efficiency is way down, back to Knick levels, but he’s had this huge spike in his assist rate. Tonight he had 15 assists and 1 turnover against the Celtics, but shot 10 for 27.

He’s a confounding player. The playmaking is impressive, but he’s got to be at like a 90 TS+ and eFG+ after this game. Right back to where he was in New York. Shrug emoticon.

The only thing i can think of is that because we only needed 2 pts DFS thought Brunson would try to penetrate to go for one of those typical pull-up jumpers he usually takes, and he was trying to be prepared for it. But he clearly gave him too much room for the 3P and when he reacted it was too late.

The crazy thing is that they just had success doubling Brunson for the last, like, five possessions, but they single cover him with the game on the line?!? What in the whaaaaaaaa!?

I still can’t believe DFS let Jalen take that shot. DFS was even teammates with Brunson, so he knows Brunson is going to take that shot, why would he just give to him?!
