For the life of me, I will never understand why Trump gets:
1. Full credit for the good economy he inherited from Obama towards the beginning of his term
2. Zero blame for mishandling COVID such that its economic and human impacts were terribly exacerbated (~60% more deaths per capita than Canada, whose population is no less urban than ours)
3. Full credit for the improving economy over the next year or two after Biden cleaned up his doo-doo, but before his shitty policies can take effect

You’re intelligent enough to know that it takes time for the effects of economic policy to manifest, and that on day 1 of any President’s term, his predecessor has far more influence over the state of the economy than he does.

The same logic somehow applied to Bush, where he got a pass on 9/11 even though he ignored the warnings about it, and the GFC that happened on his watch was instantly Obama’s fault upon his inauguration.
