Shamet had a weird down year last year, went from 38% from three in his career to 33%, and his BPM cratered. Maybe an injury? He’s only 27, which I find amazing as it feels like he’s been hanging around forever.

But you can never have enough undersized wings.

Shamet is an NBA player. I don’t think he’s a particularly good one, but he’s probably better than the average deep bench guy.

Shamet as another Human Trade Exception — assuming he’s getting the taxpayer mid level — makes the most sense the more I think about it. Combine him and Precious and KBD, and you can get someone pretty good who makes in the low teens.

The way I view it is the roster is less complete, but still closer to championship-level than it would’ve been with iHart and no Bridges.

In a way, this makes little sense, but I think it’s entirely accurate.

If I had to guess about the Shamet signing, it’s an NBA player on a good salary who can be part of a trade when the time comes. It also means there’s no good center option available at the moment, trade or otherwise.
