Go look at Eli's numbers in the 5 seasons he played with ODB. Yeah they only made the playoffs once but Eli threw for over 4,000 yards 4 out of the 5 seasons and over 30 TDs twice while completing over 60% of his passes every season.

The running game was almost non-existent in Eli's final years thanks to the weaker o-line and the defense except for 2016 was garbage but Eli arguably had his best seasons during that stretch.

Nabers would have a field day if Eli was his QB just like his fellow LSU alumn ODB had playing with Eli, unfortunately Daniel Jones is more Dave Brown than Eli Manning.

No one holds Eli higher than me due to his enormous ability to play with complete equanimity in the clutch, but even he had losing records in 5 of his last 6 seasons after Snee, Seuibert and Deihl retired due to injury and the OL was never adequately addressed for the last decade.

Jones has PTSD after being beaten to a pulp in the past 5 seasons. His career has been ruined by mismanagement of the OL which sucked today. Minn rushed 4 or 5 most of the day and Jones as sacked 5 times and under the gun on 70% of his drop backs. The one thing he could always do well was deliver the ball and today he was throwing behind everyone with poor footwork in the pocket.

Eli Manning becomes more legendary as the years go by. Many people think he wasn't that good and only had a couple of lucky playoff runs but he had very good regular season numbers. Aside from too many INTs early in his career he consistently finished Top 10 in passing yards and TDs.

I was thinking on this some today Bob, you know – what if the boys wanted to play organized football, instead of basketball…

I don't get the whole idea of Pop Warner football. Kids that young don't need that sort of contact and size differences.

My son playred all the sports , but loved ice hockey and played high school hockey for the biggest program in Minnesota and was a line mate of Blake Wheeler who had a big career in the NHL. He got smacked around a bit but never seriously injured (torn labrum) til he played college rugby at Middlebury College in VT.

Hockey isn't quite football, but it is pretty violent. He would tell you, and I agree, the discipline and priority of working to excel within a group where everyone is accountable, taught him far more valuable life lessons that were commensurate with the risk.

The NFL and by proxy College have made football more than a sport. It's an excuse for people to get together on a Sunday to hang out. I got invited to a party today to watch the Titan's game in Nashville. It's especially a community event in the South. Something I've noticed since moving to Nashville. I don't really care about football other than throwing a few dollars on it, but I spend a lot of time with my friends down here watching it every year.
