Loved Bob Seger, but my love only goes around 10 songs deep. I dig his voice but it’s not in my pantheon of white male voices in the rock genre. I’d personally put Elvis, Gregg Allman, Don Hendley, Elton John, Van Morrison, Sting, John Fogarty, Roger Daltrey, Rod Stewart, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, Freddy Mercury, Robert Plant, Levon Helm, David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and some others over Seger, but he’s certainly great and unique in his own right.

Bob Seger is an excellent songwriter whose skill gets overshadowed by his voice, which, in my opinion, is maybe the best sounding voice of any white man I’ve ever listened too. It’s the ine thing I share in common with Julie Cooper.

I’m still waiting to hear your plan for replacing Randle if he decides to walk. I’m also waiting for you to go on the record with your prediction of Randle’s salary in 2026-27.

Randle’s leverage is in the Knicks’ inability to replace his production. He is in a great position to bet on himself by not opting in. He could easily tell the Knicks that he would rather opt out and risk making less money than sign a deal paying him dramatically less than whatever a run-of-the-mill multiple all-NBA players and all-stars in their primes tend to make. What would you do if you were Leon? Would you trade him in a “neutral” trade? (whatever that is, especially since you used that term to describe what you would have traded him for two years ago…maybe you’ll explain that means now.)

What you don’t seem to be processing is the point that when Katz says “…I don’t believe there is a team in the NBA that would value the three-time All-Star more than the Knicks do….” he is actually saying that the Knicks value Randle more than the rest of the league does because they have no way to replace him. You yourself said that losing him for nothing would be a disaster. I don’t understand how you can interpret that as anything but that Randle has way more leverage than the Knicks do.

I’ll be honest – I probably read more in to people’s words than most…

I’m getting better, but my level of paranoia is pretty high…I watch people pretty closely…

Except for the fact that none of that was happening in my head. Sometimes it’s on the perceiver(s) seeing something other than what is intended (especially if one already does not like the original writer—like you, but not like geo), and not on the person delivering the message. This is undoubtedly one of those cases.

Super slow day here, so why not.

One is an informed opinion (he’s seen it) on a topic that was being discussed, with amusing turns of phrase (very much not awesome, don’t let anyone trick you…). The other was a rank dismissal of someone’s else’s interest, sight unseen, with a snotty or perhaps passive-aggressive backhand masquerading as a polite nod (if that’s your thing).

Pretty simple, really. That’s my take.
