on my way to go walk and continually serve this animal thrust upon me by eldest child, yep out on poop patrol – again…stepped downstairs, said hi to youngest son chilling in the living room…let him know it was my birthday…got a hug…asked him to guess what i was gonna do on my birthday – seamlessly said that i was going to do nothing…

called ma and she got the answer right too…about five years ago i started pointedly sharing my health situation, while doing so, i filled those closet to me in on a few dozen or so other behavioral idiosyncrasies that had taken root in me over a lifetime…

took a good 3 years or so for the plan to take hold…but, now i get to do nothing…although, i had heard that doing nothing is actually doing something, cause you’re closely mimicking sleep behavior for the mind, allowing it to reset/repair i guess…

don’t no one go quoting me on that one…

eldest son stepped in to the room, more than half asleep, sang to me, and then was the third one in row to know me so well now…

although i did semi-commit to some nba2k later with the boys…

I just had the Cantabrian anchovies at Hearth in the East Village and it is about as perfect a dish as exists in the world.

I assume you had them on crostini as an appetizer… what was your entree? I live a few blocks from there.

The Mets pretty much need to buy an entire pitching staff, and will need to figure out what to do at 1B, 2B, CF, RF, and DH, so that’s a lot of problems to solve with that $180M. Stearns hit the jackpot on most of his one year contracts and he’ll probably need to find some of that magic again next year to fill some of those holes. The Mets have been just smashing the ball over the last 40 games, and when they’re healthy it’s a deep lineup, with some bats on the bench that also aren’t totally hapless.

They’re 4th in MLB in wRC+ which I have to say is just shocking. I did not figure this to be an elite offensive team.
