Thibs almost never subs in the whole bench at a time, so Kolek could do pick and rolls with starters, particularly Randle.

Watching Kolek in this game really makes me wish we had a bench big who is a good screener/roll man. Kolek can really cook in the pick and roll. Our bench unit is all small ball kind of guys though.

Summer League is so misleading. A guy like Duane Washington Jr. can look like a superstar and a future HOFer can look like a bum. I look mostly for confirmation or refutation of strengths and weaknesses, and mostly totally ignore scoring per se.

I watched the last three quarters on a small screen. Kolek looked good. He consistently found nice passes. I also thought Duane Washington Jr. looked good. I can see some team desperate for league minimum players picking him up (Lakers maybe). We had some good team defense moments. I thought Charlotte’s offense was a lot to handle with Miller and Company and we could never overcome the terrible start to the game. It was hard for me to evaluate the other players because it took quite a while for me to have an idea of who was who.

Dadiet isn’t even 19 yet, so it’s not surprising he has a long way to go. Seems like an odd fit given our timeline but maybe they figure he is enough of a tabula rasa that he could be a future trade asset. Or maybe they just develop him for a few years in the hopes that he becomes a rotation player.

Only watched a bit but Kolek looked good and everyone else looked like SL players.

I thought Hukporti had a few nice plays.

Dadiet was exploited on defense. Needs a ton of work.

Toppin is a good cutter.

Dadiet seemed pretty clueless on defense, a lot of floating around, but I guess that’s to be expected. Hopefully he’s coachable.
