I’m pretty sure Duren is not available, and Detroit seems intent on adding veterans and trying to compete, they even gave Tobias Harris a contract. They’re not going to want just picks for their best center.

Hubs, that would be so in a vacuum but for Kessler we would have to pay the Ainge tax on top of FMV. You’ve sold me on Duren as our best option.

I’d be thrilled to nab Isaiah Jackson alternatively, but IND dumping Jalen Smith probably means they need him.

LOL. No, he won’t. He wants to play another season, but my club didn’t want him to play, we wanted him to switch to the coaching staff. The most recent rumors are that he’ll play another season in Saudi Arabia.

Of the two centers we could have just drafted in 2022, I prefer Duren to Kessler. Kessler is better at rim protection but he strikes me as a stiff, whereas Duren seems much more athletic. He is still incredibly young (he’ll be 21 next year), and he has demonstrated some legit passing skills with 3.0 Ast/36.

As you may recall we actually drafted Duren and traded him to Detroit to take Kemba Walker so we could sign Hartenstein. To get him back we could offer Deuce, Detroit’s pick, the two Washington seconds, and the Brooklyn 2nd. I’d like to hold on to Kolek and Dadiet, and I think Deuce has enough value now to carry a trade like that.

I imagine a Kessler trade would have a similar cost.
