Predictable 7 game series could hurt the product and league’s reputation and goodwill.
But a few “adjustments” here and there could make it much more entertaining and profitable without spoiling its fame or have booking implications.

Many people operate with the belief that the league does, in fact, extend series regularly (the most egregious example being Kings-Lakers game 6 back in the early 00’s).

They don’t fix games directly, but they can influence one easily. If Miami is up 2-0, for instance, they’ll tell the officiating crew of game 3 that Bam Adebayo is getting away with too many fouls and they need to clean it up.

Another trick they do is send certain crews who have high home-court bias to ref a home game.

And if all else fails, they send Scott Foster.

Both the timeout attempts were called correct no calls.

I think them calling the jersey grab a missed call is a bit bogus. Technically it might be a foul but I don’t think it impeded Maxey at all, it lasted only a second and wasn’t even enough to untuck his jersey. Calling the contact Hart had on Maxey’s body a foul is probably more legit but it wasn’t a ton of contact and Maxey was bobbling the ball and out of control. It seems like a classic no call considering it is at the end of the game.

Playoff basketball is physical and none of the fouls at the end were clear. If in doubt it is better miss a call than make a bad one. So I think the ending seemed fair. They are not going to get every call right and both the no calls at the end were marginal. I hope they also look at Embiid’s ridiculous whistle and realize he gets too many calls while Brunson gets mugged every time down the court.

I’ve admitted here many times to having a 7th grade math education, so I’ll defer to your arithmetic, as wrong as it sounds (a 7 game 1st round matchup involving the Sixers really generates more revenue than a New York v Lakers finals?); however, if the league was able to grant its own wish and produce more 7 game series’, then why don’t they?
