LeBron only made $4mil as a rookie. It’s not absurd to say Clark should command that much, even if it’s idealized and not grounded in capitalism. (Though she probably generated that much for the NCAA).

The NBA was and remains incredibly profitable. The league’s salary structure is based in part based on those results. I’m not sure the WNBA could even survive without some NBA subsidies. The revenue for the whole league is something around 200 million last I saw. If she can change the economics of the sport, the salary structure will change. That’s what the players and fans of the league have to hope for.
