After the so-very-exciting promise of January, I almost cannot imagine how sad either of these would feel to me at this point. 7th place especially makes me shudder.

Whatever happened to good old media availability sessions, where reporters can actually ask questions of players? By this I don’t mean:

“Hey, Mitch! Do you think that Thibs left you out on the floor too long? Did you ask out of the game and he wouldn’t take you out?”

I mean more like:

“Hey, OG! How is your elbow feeling? Do you think you might be able to return during the regular season, or is returning for the playoffs more of a realistic goal for you?”
“Hey, Julius! Do you think we might be able to see you out on the floor again this season, at some point? What are your timing options for surgery?”

Or would the players have just been directed to give vague answers such as: “You’ll have to ask the medical staff.”?

Well, I don’t share that sentiment. None of the big ticket free agents even briefly entertained the idea of the Mets this offseason and that’s probably for the best. NYM probably needs to shed the last vestiges of the win-now team assembled a few years ago and do a rebuild. There are some good chips to cash in if they want to go that route.

According to most Mets fans on Twitter and that one Mets fan analyst on SNY, who I actually like, apparently they’re guaranteed to sign Soto so it doesn’t matter how bad they are this year!

It’s actually kinda sad seeing them comment on Yankee related posts trying to troll them about Soto signing with the Mets in the offseason.

The Mets look like one of the very worst teams in MLB, utterly unprepared to play in all of their games so far.

It’s early in the season I guess but they might be headed to fire sale territory, they look that awful.

Orlando actually did the exact opposite and almost blew the game at home against one of the worst teams in the league. They also played horrible at the end of their recent home losses to the Clippers and Golden St. Nice try though.
