As fans we always look at a players performance and attribute the good things and bad things to him. And this is true in some ways. But sometimes the coach is finding ways to let players do more of the things they are good at and less of the things they aren’t good at. Also, some times the circumstances around them affect what they can do. To the extent that RJs and IQs performance is different in Toronto than it was here, it’s probably mostly factors like that, not that Quickley is depressed or RJ is ecstatic. And, if I recall correctly, New Orleans is a big team and probably a bad matchup for them. Toronto was out rebounded 51 to 38 and had 18 turnovers instead of 7 for New Orleans. IQ had a good assist to turnover ratio, had only two turnovers total, and is not responsible for getting rebounds, so none of that was his fault.

I just think DET is committed to Cade and Ivey, so it would not be a preferable location to IQ. But I guess it’s possible.

Never know with Detroit and Troy Weaver ..they have money to spend and will want to try and get somebody. I read today they’re after Tobias Harris..but I don’t think he would go there

Not surprising after a devastating 2OT loss last night. RJ being rested for load management didn’t help.

There’s a big difference between being a starting PG and a 24mpg sixth man-type combo guard. He will eventually adjust and be better, but I wonder how much better. Can he be the starting PG on a contender? To me, that’s a very open question, and if the answer is no, how much should a team pay him?

I am very curious as to how much he signs for this offseason. I truly wonder whether he’d be better off taking the QO and waiting until he figures it out.
