I root against the Knicks because I don’t care to see James Dolan holding the O’Brien Trophy with a shit-eating grin on his face. But I’m almost at the point of hoping the Knicks do win, just to shut E and his cooley law quality, night-court level litigating up once and for all. (Go Knicks?)

I love this Tiny Desk performance by Tyler, The Creator. To me he’s the most consistently interesting voice in hip hop today, him and Kendrick. This performance really shows off his musicality and creative vision, I think:

The Knicks are earning mucho respect, I even saw a Bill Simmons clip where he tells his Celtics to beware of the Knicks.

oh my goodness…you started me on a bit of a deep dive the other day – i had no idea The Prophets of Rage was even a thing…

i started watching the video and thinking to myself: that does not look like Sen Dog at all…Sen is like a cuban dude, that dude doesn’t look cuban…you know, he kind of looks and sounds like Chuck D 🙂

also, started digging in a little more on the Tiny Desk Concert stuff: NPR…

i still don’t really know what NPR really means – i see though from looking at their youtube page that they put out like 2 or 3 shows a week…

i had absolutely no idea at the sheer number of performances they’ve filmed…amazing…

watched some of the latest (Nile Rodgers/Chic and Bono/Edge)…just a perfect environment for a show…and what a crazy song catalog does Nile have…

i also like how in the newer shows they show a camera perspective from behind the performing artists…i always wondered what the other side of the desk looked like…

Seriously, if Leon somewhat overpaid out of expediency (he didn’t, but I digress), who the fuck cares? It’s a petty gripe. If you want someone real badly, you go out and get him unless the price is either ridiculously steep or is crippling to your plans moving forward. You don’t risk missing out in a bidding war by playing hard to get. In the case of OG, if you miss out on him, there are no analogs, no back up plans. He’s a unique player that fits what the team needs better than maybe any player in the NBA. You don’t get cute when opportunity knocks, especially with a team you have a $10M lawsuit pending against. You get the fucking deal done and you don’t look back.

BTW, lots of folks thought that the Celts significantly overpaid for Derrick White. How’s that take looking in retrospect?

Nah you would’ve hated the expectations that come wit it, underdog stories work better in the garden
