I can say from some level of experience that judges tend not to look fondly upon lawsuits that might have some de minimis, letter-of-the-law merit but realistically are never brought. There may well be some work product clause violation here if the contract is construed painfully literally that the industry, besides Dolan, has tacitly agreed to ignore.

My best guess is this ends with a decision awarding the Knicks nominal damages, but with dicta that rakes Dolan and co. over the coals.

I made the same stupid mistake when I was 24. I emailed my work to my personal account so I’d have it if I went to another firm. Then I went on an interview with another firm and they were like “dude, what are you stupid or something?”

It depends on what kind of work you were emailing to yourself and what your employment contact said but generally there’s no law against this.

I have genuine empathy for Ike Azotam in all this. He is a 32 y/o former pro basketball player from Nigeria who just started his post-playing career in 2020.

I’m just guessing here, but I suspect he did nothing with malicious intent. It strikes me as a mistake so stupid that only someone who didn’t know what they were doing would make.

That’s how I learned! I couldn’t undo the fact that I had already emailed it to myself. But I never used it in my next job.

If I had to guess, that’s what happened here. I seriously doubt the Raptors asked him to do this, or even wanted the information.

Knicks schedule is absolutely brutal in December. It lightens up big time in January so if they can remain above .500 at the end of December they’ll be poised to make they’re usual late season run under Thibs and finish where most would expect in the high 40’s maybe even reaching 50 wins.

Right now in December the Knicks have 3 home games and 10 road games pending what happens at Milwaukee on Tuesday.
