The Timberwolves and the Thunder have two of the three leading SRS numbers in the western conference and are in the six to seven range. I’m not sure anyone would have expected that. The Nuggets are the other team in that range.

I don’t think that SRS is useful in any grand scheme. The Nuggets dominated the playoffs last year simply by giving Jokic 6 more minutes a game. If he was playing 40 minutes in the regular season, they’d probably be number one and look like a sure repeater. That’s gonna happen again in the West this year.

In the East the Knicks are third with a value around six, way behind Philly and Boston but well ahead of the Pacers in fourth. Tomorrow’s game should be a good test for us.

And I notice that there are only six teams with a positive SRS in the Western conference compared to ten in the East. I still don’t see it that the West is the stronger conference.

Frank Ntilikina is a garden variety draft bust who never had the skill set to make it in the NBA as anything but back-of-roster filler. There’s no need to rationalize the reasons why he is not a good NBA player. It’s really not that hard to say “I was wrong about that guy, he stinks,” but some people are just constitutionally unable to do that.

Knox is not as naturally talented as Cam on either side, but he’s similar to Cam in that you can visualize a good offensive player there, but he’s so damn lost on the court (especially on defense) so much of time he’s a mess.

Z-Man was right about Frank from day 1. He’s not a PG. His career was short circuited the moment Phil was out and the Knicks tried to turn him into a PG instead of trying to develop him into what he could be. He was a disruptive switchable unselfish defensive player that could make some plays that desperately needed a 3 point shot. Whatever chance he had left to become a solid 3&D player after that was demolished by constant injuries crushing his development.

I still think Obi is destined to become a solid high energy guy off the bench.

KP is beasting on both sides of the ball. At his healthiest for NY he’d give us a half or maybe three quarters of a game of beast on one side. Now he’s beatsting on both sides for a full game and making game winning plays to finish on both sides. I’m not sure what they are putting in the water in Boston, but they have him in the best shape of his life and happy for the first time in his career. He’s playing great two way basketball.
