Lol stop following that dude, Strat. He’s always wrong.

It’s true we haven’t been great with draft picks, but that could always change (if it’s a guy they deem “Thibsy”).

And yeah Spida seems like our surest bet, right now at least. Zion probably won’t happen for Thibsy reasons plus he negates Randle, who I think Leon wants to keep as a 3rd option.

Lauri could be a possibility but probably isn’t a big enough fish for Leon.

Maybe we could buy low on LaMelo and hope for the best?

Hubie, it would break my heart to lose The Trebuchet, as I have always had a cute little guy on the bench that I could irrationally and imprudently root for (Ron, Frank, Deuce...). And this would leave the team bereft of such a box of empty promise (and no, DaQuan, Dylan, and Ryan just don't make the cut).

Bojan would be interesting, although in classic recent Knicksiness, he's somewhat repetitive to what we have, i.e., he's more or less good Barrett without the migraines. One inch taller. Probably less inclined to barrel to the hole, a better sharpshooter (unless New and Improved Barrett continues). A slightly worse rebounder, possibly because he spends a lot of time out at the three. Is he worse than Barrett at D? He's certainly not better.

So I mean sure, he's a legit roster piece for flotsam (sob). But he doesn't actually solve any of our real problems, outside of some more dependable three-point shooting. And if he's backing up both Barrett and Randle (as a stretch 4 who doesn't rebound), we really have a glut at the 2.

Unless someone demonstrates they can consistently outperform the draft (like 10 or more years at a minimum) you almost have to assume any one or two years results is mostly luck/noise. That's why I rarely comment on any of the draft threads when people are focused on evaluating prospects. I know I'm not going to outperform people that have been scouting these players for many years, met them, worked them out etc... Anything I'm right about is just as likely to have been luck as anything else.
