Preseason games are meaningless. So meaningless I didn’t even remember there was one tonight. Don’t take this loss to mean anything, as it doesn’t.

“Nicked up” could just mean he was ordered not to play him. Of course, given the hint of a trade, I couldn’t resist playing around with a trade machine. A win now team that is desperate for a point guard is the Clippers. The following trade works. Accept Quickley’s option and trade him for Kenyon Martin Jr., Brandon Boston Jr., and Kobe Brown plus at least one first round pick from the Clippers. This works in the trade machine. It raises the Knicks total salary by $2M, but they are still out of the tax. The Clippers would have to trade for Quickley knowing he will be a restricted free agent after one season.

Alternatively, the Knicks could sign and trade Quickley, but then the Clippers would need to use Paul George or Kawai or Morris to match salary. I don’t see them doing the first two and I don’t see the Knicks wanting Morris.

I didn’t notice IQ didn’t play. That’s odd. And they just freed up some roster space. I wonder if a trade is in the works.

On a night when Brunson went 3-12 with 5 turnovers, Grimes went 1-4 with all zeros except 1 assist, and Deuce was absolutely awful, RJ is pretty low in the pecking order of reasons why we got our asses kicked.

The passing tonight was piss poor and the defense overall was horrendous.

I’m assuming IQ did not play due to the contract situation….any word?

i’d bet on our bench figuring it out, we’re gonna have a good bit of salary invested in our bench…

probably proportionally larger roster salary percentage paid to the bench than most clubs…

we have good players: quik, jhart, ihart, ddv…they need time to gel…

i hope thibs finds use for both evian and deuce…
