If the Knicks win their case in open court the case will turn to assessing damages. I can imagine some odd legal arguments from Toronto: “The Knicks are so badly organized and behind the times that none of the material was any help to us, or “Our coach is too clueless and pig headed to benefit from the information” or “It’s in our best interest to tank and we have decided to do so, and the Knicks information made it harder for us to be bad, so it hurt us overall”.

The recent struggles following good seasons make the 1992-2000 stretch where the Knicks reached the 2nd rd 9 years in a row seem even more impressive. If you go back to 1989 it would be 11 seasons out of 12 advancing to the 2nd rd.

Ok three things:

The last two times we were good, we followed it up with a stinker of a season. Both times I didn’t see it coming. Naturally a little reluctant to get carried away.

Two things I’m most afraid of:

1. Mitch injuries. Can he continue to avoid them?

2. The backup PF position. Yes, it won’t matter if Randle plays 35 mins/game. But when there’s a gaping hole ready to be exposed if one player gets injured, it sure seems like that player tends to get injured.

Re: Brunson, I’m not worried about him taking a step back bc of his FIBA performance. I was actually counting on him making another step forward. I feel less sure of that after the world cup.

Don’t know how you can’t be excited for the team after so many years of rooting for the Langston Galloways of the world just to become rotation players.

You made a major left turn, rama. Safe to say both me and strat are excited for the upcoming season. Just nervous about potential pitfalls, adjustments, and regressions.
