darules, that's one of the reasons why I decided to go with an animal fable (that and to honor Orwell's Animal Farm) to take the real life events and put a layer of absurdity on them.

There are very few one-to-one real life to fiction characters in the book, though. Some characters are composites, some are exaggerations, and all have a fair amount of fiction built in, in various combinations.

So, we'll see. For those of you with a literary bent, chapter 29 was modeled after the next-to-last chapter of Brave New World, and the final chapter 30 was inspired by the final chapter of Candide.

Congratulations, Clash! I'm very happy for you that you were able to focus on writing and publish your book.

How was it, emotionally, to write about people you know, and make fun of them? I'm sure it's quite difficult.

I sure was! The atmosphere was incredible, and this is just the first round. Very excited for what should be a deep run. Didn’t play our best—Stewart isn’t gonna be held to 10 very often—but Sab alone was plenty.

I’m going on Tuesday also and continue to recommend it. I sat in section 20 for $35 and saw some awesome basketball.

geo man, sorry I didn't get back on to answer your questions yesterday. So, I've been writing since my college days as an English major in the 80's. I actually had a review of The Clash's Combat Rock album published back when I was at the University of Tennessee. The school's newspaper, the Daily Beacon, included an entertainment supplement on Thursdays called The Drummer. My review was in that. I still have a copy of it in a box somewhere...

As for The Owl, the Weasel, and the Toad, I had the initial idea quite a few years ago, but waited to start until I was retired in 2017, since I would be making fun of a few people still working for the school system where I was teaching.

The last 6 years have seen a lot of fits and starts, but late last year an ending for the story finally hit me, so I swore to myself that I'd finish it up before my birthday in August. I did. Now I've got several other projects that I need to focus on.

So an exhibit 9 deal basically just includes a clause that says we can waive Archie if he gets injured. Standard NBA deals force you to carry a player if he gets injured until he's healthy or the season ends even if it's a non-guaranteed deal.

Exhibit 9’s are a vehicle for teams to avoid the sort of situation that befell the Clippers last year, when Maalik Wayns suffered a preseason knee injury. It was a non-guaranteed contract, but not an Exhibit 9, so the Clippers had to carry him on their roster into the regular season. The deal for Wayns was to have become fully guaranteed for the season if the Clippers failed to waive him by the end of December 1st, and he was still unable to play at that point. He gave the Clippers a break when he agreed to push the guarantee date back to January, and the team eventually waived him in advance of that deadline once he had recovered.

You can have a player with both an exhibit 9 & exhibit 10 clause.

You need 14 players on your roster prior to signing an Exhibit 9.

You can only have 6 exhibit 10s, which may be why Archie isn't on one.

All the above is per HoopsRumors
