Russian Doll season 2 is surprisingly good since I never thought they would be able to follow-up season 1. That said, maybe some distance between viewings wouldn't hurt.

I have never watched Suits but I have one friend who won't shut up about it. He's half joking when talking it up but really loves it. He was also a big fan of Burn Notice back in the day

Hi Alan, hope you're feeling better. Just want to mention that I had the same experience with Suits, it was there so I watched it, and was mildly amused and willing to keep going. But both Lady Raven (a legal eagle in her off hours) and I both became disturbed by the idea that everything the guy was doing was going to be overturned when it came out he wasn't an actual lawyer, so we stopped. But was mildly amusing to see Megan, at least -- I had no idea.

On the other hand, I finally went in and watched Russian Doll, and we both loved the first season (I have to admit a strange soft spot for such shows, from Groundhog Day to Palm Springs to Edge of Tomorrow to Source Code to Boss Level to even, gulp, The Map of Tiny Perfect Things), but I'm wondering if we're going to be sorely disappointed with Season 2 (which we've started and are questioning...).

If you wrote something about it back in the day, happy to read what you said.

I remember reading on ESPN that the Knicks were likely to make the playoffs in 2005-06 because Larry Brown was just that much of a winner.

So yes, I agree it's nice to see pro-Knick hot takes, just take them with a huge grain of salt (but again, yes, better to see them than to NOT see them).

That Marks bit is the hottest of hot takes. Pretty surprising, and not in a flattering way. Buried in that take are a bunch of assumptions:
-Brunson is a legit alpha, specifically as a scorer but more broadly as a floor general.
-The Real Julius is what we saw last regular season, and this time he will show up in the playoffs
-RJ is primed of a major leap this coming season
-JHart is capable of being an even better glue guy
-DDV is a difference maker as a 3&D combo guard
-IQ and Grimes will improve further and be more effective in the playoffs
-Mitch and iHart give the Knicks 48 minutes of elite rim protection with two somewhat different looks on offense
-The non-rotation bench (Deuce, Sims, Roby) will fill in adequately when their numbers are called
-Thibs and his staff will learn from what didn't work vs. Miami and tweak things as necessary

If most of those things happen, then sure, we are a contender and with a few lucky breaks and bounces, we can beat anyone in the East.

But I sure as hell wouldn't bet on it. For now, pencil me in for a MIL-DEN final.

I quote Bobby Marks:
<blockquote>Which regular-season game is an early NBA Finals matchup? . . . Marks: Phoenix at New York (Nov. 26). Star power versus roster continuity. Yes, I have penciled in both teams as my early favorites to represent each conference in June. The styles in how the two rosters were built are totally opposite. The high-spending Suns went all-in with the Kevin Durant trade in February and then added Bradley Beal in June. The Knicks, on the other hand, have taken a more conservative approach, returning 13 players that lost to Miami in the second-round while adding only Donte DiVincenzo in free agency.
