Maybe this'll stir things up:

The loss was “fully emblematic of what is happening to the our once great Nation under Crooked Joe Biden,” Mr. Trump wrote on his social media platform.

“Many of our players were openly hostile to America — No other country behaved in such a manner, or even close,” he added. “WOKE EQUALS FAILURE. Nice shot Megan, the USA is going to Hell!!! MAGA.”

I don't get the gloomy narrative about Embiid's health. Yes, it is a risk because of what you have to give up to get him. But that narrative is because he played a total of 31 games his first 3 seasons. In the last 5 seasons he has played 300 games, never less than 51. He would be replacing Mitch who in the last 5 seasons has played 289 games. Granted there is a 6 year age difference, but there is an argument we would actually be strengthening the health-risk of the center position by getting Joel.

Barring the extremely remote possibility that Leon figures out a way to sign Mitchell as a free agent, I personally don't see a world where Spida + Brunson-what we'd have to give up for him = Championship. Of course, the implications of the new CBA kind of muddy up what the future will look like, but even so, it doesn't seem like the defensive issues with that double-supermax salary backcourt can be patched over with however those constraints will play out.

Embiid is a different story. It's all about his health. I'm very much of a skeptic that he will be the same player in 3 years. And the cost will definitely be much, much higher.

Given that choice, it's pretty much a coin flip. I'd probably go Embiid because at least there's the theoretical possibility that it could lead to a championship. But I wouldn't feel great about it.

Hope Leon thought long and hard about the gift, perhaps a Knick jersey with number 21? A couple of season tickets for Joel and his wife? A "Knicks 2025 NBA Champions" embossed punchbowl? Surely that is not tampering. And was he at Brunson's wedding? IHart's?

Good Macri newsletter today about the possibility of a Donovan Mitchell Trade Saga 2.0. Would occur next summer if it occurs at all.

We’d presumably have a stronger negotiating position this time around given that we’ve proven to be a good team without him. However two more stinker seasons since the first go around from RJ Barrett would certainly complicate things.

For many reasons, hope RJ prevents that from happening!

There’s also the fact that is almost certainly Mitchell or Embiid, not both. Should we take a median deal for Mitchell if the Embiid situation is still uncertain next summer?

Apropos of nothing, Marc Stein says Leon was at Embiid’s wedding last weekend.
