Swedes are some of the world’s most generous people, donating about 1 percent of gross national product to humanitarian aid programs each year, and the society has continued to diversify, due in part to refugees who have been welcomed into Swedish borders.

Welcomed is a bit strong for a country that responded to letting in some refugees by nearly electing a far-right, anti-immigrant populist from a party with ties to neo-nazism in the 2022 general election.

Has anyone watched it?

I reviewed Playmakers back in the day. IIRC, it was a show where what it was about was more interesting than how it was about it. Yeah, it puts all the NFL’s dirty laundry up there on the screen, but the characters and performances were meh, stories predictable, etc. Again, this is my recollection 20 years later, having not thought of the show much, if at all, since.

i always had this notion that the folks up in scandinavia were some of the happiest folks on earth…

maybe the cold is not that bad…no, i think i’d rather sweat than have the chills…i don’t like the teeth chattering thing…

i’m not familiar with their laws or customs, but – they sure seem to have figured some societal things out…

i love an underdog story – women’s athletics is just that…

as far as the game goes – hopefully morgan can finish…her and rapinoe play well together…rodman’s back should be better…

just like the knicks, as donnie has taught me – i’ll try not to care too much about the outcome of a sporting event…it’s just a game…i hope they win though…

i’ll assume the worse until proven otherwise…perhaps be pleasantly surprised…

i think it was noble who mentioned going to a liberty’s game not too long ago…that’s cool…

Hey geo, wish I did, but I’m a willful ignoramus when it comes to futball. Was forced to watch a fair amount of it while trapped in hotels in Asia in a previous life, when the alternative was cricket or Bollywood. Actually finally came to understand a fair amount about the rules of cricket, Bollywood almost entirely escapes me, and soccer offsides still seem like a bad idea. Sort of like hockey and six 6’4″, 220 lb men a team in a tiny rink. Make it five of them each, and that’s a sport. Otherwise it’s an icy mosh pit, or demolition derby on skates.

Otherwise, I guess let’s go USA, because unilateral nationalistic ideology.
