Can you picture RJ guarding Obi? I’ve always thought Obi was a 3/4 tweener, but Thibs was too stubborn to try him at the 3. We’ll see what Carlisle does. Some matchups could be difficult for him, but I don’t think RJ is one of them.

Begley and Lowe also seem to suggest that IQ having a poor playoffs kind of soured a few of the folks in the front office on him. I guess I don’t get the concept of paying him $20 million a year, but dumping him if he wants $25 million?

So…the Knicks want to low ball IQ, and if he plays well enough to merit more, which means he’ll be playing really well, they want to trade him in a package to get a star? I really think they just don’t particularly see a future for IQ here.

This is what Macri has been strongly implying for a while — specifically, that the FO and Thibs don’t want to play IQ too much with Brunson, and thus don’t feel like they’d be getting enough value out of having Quickley here at his market value. So if he costs what he deserves, they’re better off trading him for someone they believe is a better fit with Brunson.

Agree with that thinking or not, but this seems consistent with what others have said.

Yeah, it definitely does seem to work out for him, financially, but it’s weird how the guys who tend to be really good at this stuff are also the guys who are already making fine money working in finance like my brother.

I bet on summer league too, and yes, it’s a pretty inefficient betting market. I don’t make much money betting basketball since I don’t put a lot in, but I had about 5% return over the course of last season. That’s not amazing, but it’s definitely more fun getting 5% that way than from a bond yield!

The Bear is excellent. It’s just also very stressful, so if you don’t like that sort of stuff, you’ll hate it.
