Do you mean that because of the Knicks’ roster construction, making the final step will not be difficult? Or do you mean that it *will* be difficult, but the reason it will be difficult is not because of their roster construction? It can conceivably be read either way.

The latter. It’s always difficult no matter what your roster construction. Other teams that want to upgrade have roster problems too. Consider Cleveland as an example.

I agree it’s difficult to improve from here, but that is the case for any playoff team looking to make the final step. I don’t think it is especially hard for the Knicks because of their roster construction.

Most NBA teams are fighting over the same types of players. The common path if you don’t have the right type of players is to bide your time til you get them.

Remember my criticism of him all along has been constant. I’ve used two analogies to express the same thing:

– he’s gonna get rim rocked
– he can get us to the mezzanine doing things this way, but that’s as far as it goes.

He needs manna from heaven. He actually got some with Brunson, but he still needs more.
