hey hubie, watching ESPN, their talking ja...

you are 100% correct regarding the discrepancy in treatment...

ja is in about a million times more dangerous a situation than the tannehills...because of those discrepancies...

who knows how it may come to pass, hopefully he gains some clarity on his situation...whatever his vices are, besides dumb "friends", he needs to address those demons...

hopefully the nba is able to interdict strongly on his behalf...

having your situation put out world wide...that's gotta be weird...hard to deny though...

Constitutional rights protect you from the government, not from private agreements. The NBA could put a clause in a player's contract that prevents gun ownership. But the NBA isn't trying to stop Ja from
having guns, they're trying to stop him from showing them off in videos.

It hurts the NBA's brand if Ja is showing his guns off due to his previous actions, not specifically this video in isolation. If his previous actions were shooting a gun at a gun range, then nobody would or should care.

If you hired OJ Simpson at a job you probably include a clause that doesn't let him own a white Ford Bronco. Him driving one isn't even remotely illegal, but you sure as hell don't want him doing it.

When you don’t think a player is worth a max contract, a management team can handle it well or badly. I think the Suns handled it badly. In contrast, the Knicks have renegotiated with both Barrett and Randle and gave them below max contracts without apparent unhappiness from either of them.

Ayton could be a head case anyway, but I don’t think the Suns did well in their interactions with them. And Bruno, I’m not sure what you mean about not grabbing ten rebounds a game. If you look at Basketball reference he has averaged 10.5 rebounds a game in the playoffs and 10.4 a game in his career.

It is an open question how good he actually is and whether less defense and more scoring at the center position will make us a better team But if you believe we need more offense at the center position, I think he will be cheap to acquire. He is basically overpaid, so the Suns should not expect to get many assets for him. According to the trade machine, Fournier and either Mitch or iHart for him works. I don’t see why we’d have to give up anything else.

The truth is, when I wrote down this trade, I didn’t like it. Emotionally, I’d rather stick with what we have and run it back. And I’m not a guy who thinks we have to make changes. But if we do decide we need more scoring out of the center position, this is a way to do it that the team should consider.

Hubert, I believe it’s the optics given what he was suspended for, and the other just-below-the-surface stories from the past year or two. If not for the previous issues he’s had, this one video would at best just raise a few eyebrows.

It’s not about him showing that he has a gun: there’s a difference between showing IG your armory at a rifle range and flashing a gun at a party/club. Context matters.

From what I read, my impression is that he and his family are having some struggles with adjusting to his ascending levels of fame. I hope that they all do some reflecting and decide to make some lifestyle changes to better protect themselves from negative attention. Maybe even learn how to take the high road when certain people try to come at them sideways - bc you know there are those out there that will try to bait him. Also, i think they’d do good to learn that money doesn’t change you - allows to be more of who you are and spread said influence.

I really am not making a move to get a mercurial center who couldn't care enough to play for a team that had Devin Booker and Kevin Durant scoring 40 each in the playoffs, I'm sorry. If he can't be bothered to grab 10 rebounds a game and play a bit of defense because he's butt hurt because they didn't immediately max him, even though he ended up being paid the same, and was kept as a starter and was given every opportunity to be the 3rd guy on a contender, I mean...

If you guys don't want KAT because you don't think he's a winning player, what the hell does that make Ayton then? The guy who would rather be putting up numbers with the Indiana Pacers in the lottery instead of the Suns in the playoffs? He's Hassan Whiteside 2.0.

the head case part is probably at least partially due to Phoenix’s behavior showing Ayton they didn’t value him.

Whoa, hold on: anybody who was made into a headcase from not getting a $133,000,000 contract was probably a headcase to begin with; however, that said, the Suns DID value him, they just didn’t value him at a max extension, which was smart of them because he’s not a max player; moreover, if he was offended, as it seems he was, that Mikal Bridges was offered $90,000,000 while he, himself, was not offered $133,000,000, he is simply being offended by the intelligence of his own team’s management; therefore, he is damned if he searches for more money elsewhere, as he will be marrying himself to his own demise; in conclusion, I have written a very long sentence that is grammatically correct proving that D’Andre Ayton is not as smart as me.
