Dallas should lose out but what the players want and what makes sense for the franchise doesn’t always line up. I think they want to win, they just can’t defend remotely well enough to do it.

DAL doesn’t seem the least bit interested in winning so this may all be moot.

Logically they should lose out, but logically, they should have signed Jalen Brunson to an extension when he asked them to give him a below-market extension, so they don’t always do the logical thing.

One think that would be poetic justice is if we wind up getting the pick in part because of that excruciating blown game to DAL. That’s the only way I could get that fucking game out of my craw.

I know the draft pick drama is a big deal, but once the Nets lost I was happy. Now maybe I’m a couple more notches up and over on the Mood Meter chart, but DAL doesn’t seem the least bit interested in winning so this may all be moot.

The Nets would very likely have been ahead of us if they stayed together and Durant didn’t get hurt, so yeah. But aside from that, it seems like we reached our most optimistic outcome.

That’s what’s funny, because my most optimistic outcome was specifically “fluking into the fifth seed,” which is exactly what happened due to the weird Nets implosion. It’s a great result for the Knicks.
