Despite great efforts from Donnie, Rama and others, the COTT (comment of the thread) has to be “The number of flips doesn’t mean shit. If you flip a coin 8,000 times, the difference between it coming up heads 3,000 or 4,000 times is still random chance.”.
At 8000 there’s only a 0.7% chance that the result has more than 1.5% difference (less than 3880 or more than 4120) from the mean (4000). The probabilities for 3000 are filled with a lot of zeros. LOL

Will probably repeat this on the new news thread, but I highly recommend yesterday’s Zach Lowe pod with Doris Burke. Around the 25-minute mark (I think?), they do a segment where they cannot say enough good things about this team. RJ’s inconsistency is basically the only negative they can find at the moment. Zach said he wouldn’t be shocked if we beat the Cavs in the playoffs, and could also see us (depending on the seedings) beating the Sixers under the right circumstances. Boston and Milwaukee were an understandable bridge too far for him.

I’m also reading a book called Path Lit by Lightning: The Life of Jim Thorpe. Highly recommended.

True very hard to eat beef here (though not impossible).

I’m visiting my ancestral homeland in Gujarat (I’m born and raised in queens). My biracial kids are with me (they are half black half Indian). Showing them the food, culture, with a little traveling to north India mixed in.

My son is 8. Huge Knicks fan. Daughter 11. Also a huge Knicks fan. Their first Knicks game was 2 weeks ago before this trip. JHart’s first game! I splurged and got floor level seats behind the hoop about 11 rows up. I feel like we helped start the winning streak. The garden was electric that night.

We are back March 7th. They don’t go back to school till March 9th. I’m debating taking them to Knicks vs charlotte march 8th. Wednesday night game. Probably should let them rest and get back into school mode. We’ll see. Long journey back home in 4 days.
