What do I want from an Knicks owner? Well, I want him to be willing to spend. In the NBA you can’t just buy your way to a good team the way Cohen is going with the Nets because of all the salary cap rules. But you can spend money on your development staff, your coaching and management team and on having a big scouting staff. Dolan does that. Then you want him to pick a good GM and let him do his job without interference. I gave mixed feelings about Rose, but I still think he is middle of the pack as far as GMs go. But he’s competent and Dolan let’s him do his job. He’s done well on low draft picks but not so well on high draft picks. (This may reflect the fact that Dolan is willing to pay for enough scouting to investigate more possible players than other teams do). Young players seem to be developing but it’s a slow process. The team is now much more fun to watch than it was. Compare this with, say, Chicago. Chicago hired a new GM, made splashy trades and looked good for a while, but now actually seems worse off than we do. I am ok with the Knicks patient approach and am happy we have an owner that finally supports this. For sure he didn’t in the past and this is why I think he’s a better owner now. If we got a new owner he could easily insist we blow all our assets on a quick fix approach and ultimately leave us worse off. So I am not eager to change even though Dolan has major warts.

Cybersoze and TNFH, I know just what you mean about wanting a better person as an owner. I think I just care less about that than you do. I don’t not care, but I don’t expect people to be perfect and I’m more worried about how they do their job than their character (up to a point )

But the best thing you've said about him as an owner is that he isn't the worst owner. So when you pair that with him clearly being a terrible person, then, like, what? I don't get it. What's the argument? I get, "We're stuck with this asshole no matter what, so just hope for the best from the Knicks," and I'm honestly totally fine with that. We can't control Dolan's ownership, so we just have to live with it (just like how I have to live with Thibs never getting fired ever), but that's a far cry from ever actually even remotely defending the guy.

Damn, JK, that’s a really good song. I actually liked Lil Yachty before this (he’s my favorite of the Lils), but this direction is an amazingly complicated turn for him—and you guys nailed it.

The ‘Dark Side’ riffs are evident, but they really blend seamlessly with a certain P-funk sound throughout. Unreal how much attention this is getting/will get. Jolly good show!

I really like "Black Seminole". I definitely get the Pink Floyd vibes. Congrats JK!

At 6'2" with extremely long arms Deuce is a smallish, but not tiny combo guard, similar to Melton or Beverly. If he can get his 3 point shooting around league average, he will be in the NBA for many years to come.

RJ is a disappointment to me because he was picked right after 2 franchise players. We tanked and had the worst record in the league that year, but the flattened odds got us. There are a myriad of stats and video clips that show he is not on the level of Zion or Ja, whose biblical names would also have fit nicely on this roster. The most we can really hope for is a jack of all trades, with the self-confidence to take and make a big shot occasionally, but is very inconsistent at best on both sides of the ball. Despite his flaws he was given the extension to distract from the pr nightmare not getting Mitchell was. He will not be getting traded and will be in the starting lineup for the foreseeable future because of that more than anything he does on the court.

I really like Obi, but Obi, Cam and 2 protected firsts should be enough to get OG. OG's strength is on the defensive side of the ball. He is among the league leaders in steals and guards 1-4 effectively. OG and Sims can be our back up 4's and would allow us to move RJ to the 2, which is where I think he can use his size and strength to his advantage.
