Speaking strictly in terms of his music, I had to jump off the Kanye train around the time of Yeezus, which I think is one of the most overrated albums of its time.

To me, so much of great hip hop is about the persona of the MC. In his early days, Kanye (never a top notch MC to begin with) had a plucky kind of underdog kind of charm, and even a little bit of a sense of humor to his music. Yeezus is where everything started to turn into this very dull, self-aggrandizing subject matter and it’s when his persona really started turning into something grating and insufferable.

He’s been pretty weak as an artist for quite a while now in my opinion. I don’t think you can make transcendent music if you’re a truly terrible person with hate in your heart.

Does Kim get full custody now or what?

anthony black has started the season ok… but he’s not like cade.. or the real cade at all since he’s no where near the scorer he was…

nick smith is… by all indication.. the guy to watch on arkansas since he has scoring potential along with great size with pg-ey skills… black is sort of impersonating a pg right now because smith is out but there’s other things to be excited about with him… he’s just not gonna be top 5 anything until he can answer the scoring question.. which likely won’t happen…

he’s still pretty good tho and has surprised so far….

I love Strat but I’m a little nervous about how far he might take that one. I mean, he’s still on Phil Jackson. He has also watched every Dallas Mavericks game since the Porzingis trade. We have no reason to think we’ve heard the last of this.

Kanye was clearly jealous of strat getting all the attention for his contrarian take earlier.

(He would have been better off simply saying that Hitler is over-rated by the all-in-one hate metrics and leaving it at that)

My theory on Obi’s rim numbers dropping is that the poor rebounding forces him to stay home and fight for boards rather than leak out. The Obi-break accounted for a lot of his scoring.

Having become familiar with the Biosocial theory during DBT, I believe Kanye is what they call a Highly Sensitive Person. When an HSP is invalidated socially, well, shit hits the fan.

So when Kanye was invalidated after the 2016 election, two things happened:

1. He felt betrayed by and lashed out at everyone who invalidated him.
2. He sought validation anywhere he could find it, and unfortunately that was in the Alt-Right community.

Whatever, though. I have mental health issues, too; being anti-semitic isn’t a symptom.

It’s still quite sad to see the self destruction. Right before he inserted himself into the national left-right schism, he was the height of his artistic power. The Saint Pablo Tour was insane. There were A list celebrities in a mosh pit at MSG. I remember a night he announced he was going to do one song live in Greenwich Village at midnight and everything below 14th street shut down (he canceled it at the insistence of the NYPD, who said they would be unable to control the crowd). The man even took on (and took down, briefly) Taylor Swift.

And now people are googling “did hitler really invent highways and microphones?” I mean, what the fuck? Someone needs to turn this show off.

I mean they just traded two players for Beverley this summer because Beverley was going to be the perfect fit and helpful with their shooting and defense. Now they feel they should move him?
