I would think being injured reduces his value. And the current Knicks seem to be value conscious. Hi injury is unlikely to be a cause to trade him

If they want to compete this year, he might not play much this year at all, so if they want someone who can help them this year, then it would make sense to trade him from that very limited perspective. I agree that I would hope that wouldn’t play into things, but trading him at this point while he is hurt is strange period, so I fear that that does play into things.
