I don’t want to overreact but it definitely matters. Losing the series and getting swept means we’ve basically lost the division, unless we win out and Atlanta loses out. Which means we’re in the wild cats and have to play a best if 3 against the Padres instead of getting a short break and being able to setup our rotation.

The 2000 Yankees went 5-15 down the stretch then beat the As, Mariners and thrashed the Mets in the World Series. This series doesn’t matter all that much for the Mets.

Are they at the level of the Dodgers? No, nobody is. But it’s baseball, they can absolutely win a series against them, the Mets are really good.

I would like to see the Mets pass on re-signing deGrom when he inevitably opts out. He’s never going to give you lots of innings and he shit the bed in the two most important games of the season so you can’t really call him a big game pitcher at this stage of his career.

That gazillion dollars can be better spent somewhere else.

That’s pretty evident, we have several holes to fill in the offseason, those teams are solid in every phase of the game. The thing about the Braves is how young they are…they could be really good for a long time.
