I’m sorry Hubert, but I don’t agree with all of this. He is actually having on OK rookie season in that he’s slowly getting better and looking more like an NBA player as the season goes on, but many rookies do that and it just means we haven’t totally struck out on him yet. He has some value, but that doesn’t mean we could trade him for a lottery pick. Teams are looking for big wins in the lottery and he isn’t that. It’s more reasonable to take a flyer on him than it was for the Pistons to take a flyer on Dennis Smith, but I don’t think that much more valuable.

Maybe I’m wrong, but he was one of the favorites to win rookie of the year because he’s 23 and was considered more NBA ready. I think the fact that he wasn’t really NBA ready has probably hurt his stock because has to be considered as having less upside than some of the others. In a re-draft, I doubt he’d be a top 10 pick.

I wouldn’t put too much thought into Obi now. His market value is already way down.

I guess the Luca news is good. I see Rose being back next year with a significant backup role. That means either Luca has to be good enough to start (unlikely) or he’ll be our 3rd string PG. I guess that’s fine. That leaves IQ in his current as a scorer off the bench unless he can win the starting PG or SG role.
