So you think being an arsonist is cool???? looking for positive affirmation??? Probably came to the right place…..

this is back in the late 70’s and macarthur airport was still small and fairly undeveloped – i’m not really sure what it looks like today…however, at the time it made for a fun place to investigate…i remember one time i was with a friend and we suddenly got the genius idea to grab some of the flags along the runway and wave a few planes in…

i remember it well because as security was chasing us my friend, who was a little slimmer, made it back underneath the hole in the fence to get away and – i got caught…security guard just yelled at me for awhile and let me go…

confessing feels good…i also set the knights of columbus building on fire that was in town…in all fairness at the time, it was in a pretty bad state of disrepair…it did have a bowling alley in it which was cool…however, in the equipment room next to it there was a pretty good sized hole in the floor leading to the basement…i remember looking down and seeing all these jagged boards sticking up…the image stuck with me because a friend fell in, but thankfully caught himself on the edge…

had to jump off the second floor ledge in to the snow because it took a while for us to notice the fire had started spreading fast…

it was terrible – when i hit the ground one of the lenses of my glasses popped out… this happened during a period of time when i was going through glasses like every other month…i knew i couldn’t go home missing a lens…

i’ll never forget my friend finding it in the snow as the sirens were getting a lot closer…

actually at night there were some fireworks going off around town…pretty normal this time of year…i like watching fireworks…landscaping equipment just happens to be probably my least favorite noise in the world…dogs, kids, birds never really bother me…gas motors though, yuch…

not sure how i would react to living in a more urban environment…i remember growing up and at one point living close to a train track and a fire alarm siren, we were really close to macarthur airport too…that was pretty noisy at times…

my company hosts this thing at the san diego convention center…i go down to help out…each year a buddy of mine share a room at the marriott overlooking the marina…one of the few rooms down there with balconies facing the water…there are concerts by the water on friday and saturday night..after the show there’s a barge out in the water that starts shooting off fireworks, it’s cool…if you get a room on the north west corner you can see the fireworks up by the midway which will usually happen at least once during the week…

nice place to sit, smoke, drink and watch the show…
