what’s the deal with taking folks temperature?

doug chew mentioned it with his pops in wuhan, and, i’ve seen it being used on tv as a screening method…

how effective a screening tool is that really?

obviously if asymptomatic folks can spread it, and, i’ve heard it can pop up, go away, and pop up again…i guess though it does provide some indication for the likeliness of the virus…

Seems like the vast majority of the population is still in deep denial about what we’re up against.

big time…i admit, i myself was late to the party – just ignorance and sheer stupidity on my part…i just didn’t get what the virus was doing…just in talking with family members and some folks at work – seems like maybe a good 30% or so of folks that i’ve spoken to about it – aren’t really seeing it…

it’s like a culling of the elderly all over the world…our parents and grandparents, and heck – us too whom may have conditions which could lead to serious complications…

i don’t know why some people either don’t believe, accept or understand…maybe media fatigue…deep distrust of everything…lack of knowledge…i’m not sure…

ma’s got strength i’ll never know…she’s also got a host of ailments which would make her susceptible to the virus’ effects…i tried to tell her to imagine 10 people standing in a group – spread them out a little bit or put them in a line…at least 8 of those people will walk away from this virus even if afflicted…and, you will be one of them…

A physician friend told me yesterday that NYS and the FDA approved a rapid CoVId testing mechanism that can yield results in about 4 hours and is a modification of an existing machine that many independent testing facilities already have. According to him, it should be up and running this week in NYC. I found this link which I believe discusses it:

I challenge anyone defending Trump to any degree to read this start to finish and try to keep doing so.

I mean:

This unfit dickhead is going to be singularly responsible for an untold number of deaths when this is all said and done.

Jowles, I’m so sorry, and I’m flabbergasted about Lady Jowles. That’s borderline criminal. I’m actually north of you up in the pandepicenter, which really means I’m just a week ahead of your area (estimating two weeks ahead of NY, although y’all are catching up fast). I ordered all my staff to work from home two weeks ago. Unless it’s a systems-critical job (food, power, medical, emergency, etc.), everyone should be home.

But boy do I wish the season hadn’t been cancelled…

It boggles my mind that any employers outside of a very select few (e.g. first responders) are taking any risks whatsoever. Seems like the vast majority of the population is still in deep denial about what we’re up against.

Oregon has the ability to test 80 patients a day and it is reserved for those who are critically ill. There is no federal response, and therefore testing, as of now.

i guess i should just be thankful i’ve never found myself in a situation where i had to reconcile/justify the actions and behavior of such a human being as donald john trump…the word: untenable comes to mind mostly…
