Isnt it a good trade for GSW? Not sure if they will ever need russel. Wiggins could be their 3 and with less offensive responsibility when Klay and Steph are back then it could be a fit.

The Warriors probably originally thought they could turn D-Lo into something good, but people around the NBA (outside of NY and a few other places) are generally smart enough to know that he’s barely a net plus player (if at all) despite the scoring and all-star hype. He’s young and could get better. But I actually think Wiggins may be the better player and is also young and could get better under GS management . So they get compensated nicely for the extra salary on the bigger of two bad contracts.

Season is dead. Get picks in and shed long term salary. Costs just happened to be Wiggins. That’s the best I can come up with, because I figured the Warriors were smarter to want Wiggins for basketball reasons.

I think they whiffed on their valuations on DLo when they did the sign and trade for him. Paid like a top 25 player, but would barely crack the top 50.
