so it’s pretty weird to stick miller out in front of the press without any executive comment on the firing, right? i get that they did the precog firing a couple weeks ago, but you’d think they’d at least say a little something. if there’s no follow up at all after the game, it sure seems to support the idea that the front office is also pre-fired.

If the Wilpons can sell the Mets, James Dolan can make the right hire. If guys like Bob Myers and Masai Ujiri, who are responsible for building the teams that won 4 of the last 5 NBA championships, are interested in your job then dammit you take it.

Masai Ujiri is the big name, though. A couple articles came out stating that Ujiri would be interested in being in New York to further his philanthropic efforts with Giants of Africa, and that Ujiri is the guy the MSG executives want (Begley also reports that Sam Presti has fans at MSG). Offer him $100M over 6 years, give him full autonomy over this operation and the minor league operation, and get the hell out of his way. Ujiri, with full control of the Knicks, will double the Knicks’ worth in 5 seasons.
