The Magic Johnson thing last night is mind-boggling. Wow. I guess I can't say I'm super surprised - he's a guy who loves to be loved, and being an executive, while lucrative and rewarding in its own ways, is not an easy job for someone like that. But man, what shitshow it is out there right now. Jeannie Buss seems likable enough, but she does not seem to be doing a much better job than her incompetent brother.

Highly recommend last night's Knicks Film School podcast where they went through the salary machinations of this summer including why (unless the 2 theoretical max FAs agree to take less) it's likely one of DSJ/Frank/Trier will not be here next year. I really like Jeremy Cohen's idea of trying to send DSJ to his hometown Charlotte Hornets perhaps for that 2020 Cleveland 2nd rounder, which I assume will be a top 5 pick in that round next year, assuming that a PG comes in FA - Kemba seems likely to leave, and if so, they'll need some sort of crowdpleaser and young prospect at the position.

I like DSJ just fine but there's no question he will be redundant on a team that might have Kyrie and Trier on it. One could easily find an acceptable backup PG for the minimum -- especially with (theoretically) Kyrie/KD acting as recruiters.
