That said, the package is only slightly better than what we got for KP, who is far less certain of a proposition than Harris albeit with more upside. Sort of underscores how smart of a trade Perry/Mills made considering that Philly took a “last step” in a long rebuild towards a championship-contending team (i.e. the ideal time to overpay) and Dallas is pretty far from being a contender (not a great time to pverpay.)

Despite J’Lo’s elite athleticism, Gigli earned just 7.2m on a 75.6m budget while Biodome (though rated slightly shittier by Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic) earned 13m on a 15m budget due to Pauly Shore’s wingspan. Both were losers but one wound up being a lot costlier than the other.

How would that make any sense for Memphis? Unless there were other picks involved. Or maybe the Grizzlies think they could then flip Lowry for something more easily than Conley? I am not understanding this at all.

I think they save about 40m because Conley just needs to play four more games this season and his 34m for 2020/21 salary becomes guaranteed whereas Lowry expires next year. Plus Valanciunas makes less than Gasol. I guess it makes them a little better short-term but I wouldn’t want to take on Conley’s contract when Kawhi is most likely going to leave.
