Yeah, but…5 of the 6 losses could have been wins and all 3 wins were convincing. Robinson, Trier and Dotson are proving to be legit NBA rotation players. Hardaway is playing at the top of the realistic expectations at signing time curve (anything better would surprise most, right?) Vonleh is out of his mind relative to expectations. Just those developments alone are enough to generate 5+ wins more than expected. Then consider that Frank might develop, Knox might add something, Hezonja has shown some glimpses, Mudiay looked like an NBA PG last night, and Burke can’t play any worse than he has, and there is more room for growth. And if they can be, say, 10 games below .500 around New Year’s Day, and KP comes back, you have a team that will beat any team that doesn’t bring its A-game because they have the perfect coach for their young, hungry personnel.

Obviously this would be truly tragic in terms of the tank. But it will only happen if we pulled three young studs out of our ass (Vonleh, Trier, Robinson.) I mean, it’s hard to complain when you play young guys and win anyway.

Could be. We are 3 and 6, which extrapolates to about 27 and 55 if we keep up the same percentage of wins. But lots of stuff can still happen.

I am amazed by Trier, if he got enough minutes, I think he could be a sixth man of the year.

I’m also amazed by Robinson, but still haven’t seen most of this game yet due to connection problems

Again, he has a LOT of tools to work with and may eventually become a superstar, but that dude is BAD on defense right now. He needs a line like that just to be break even.

For all the Mudiay hate, he might have just played the best 16 PG minutes for the Knicks thus far this year. He certainly merited another good look.

Trier seems less post up and more shake and bake than DeRozen. More like a shorter, less lanky Jamal Crawford, a face-the-basket player. Or a taller, stronger Lou Williams. His ball-handling is superb and he knows how to create just enough space facing up to get his shot off. If he can play just average D, then that’s a potential stud.

So Trier, because he’s on a two-way, isn’t eligible for the kind of four-year deal we gave Robinson and Dotson? That’s kind of a bummer. But he’s been great.

That was a drool-worthy performance by MitchRob. He’s so productive on raw talent alone. Bravo to Fizdale for giving Mitch the starting job, it is working out great.
