@9 that’s why I was careful to point out both that the sample size is very small and that it is solely based on the advanced stats we commonly used, such as DBPM, DRtg, WS48, as well as things like DReb%, Stl% and Blk%.

It’s more about the out of control endowment effect and confirmation bias that makes having a candid discussion about Frank with some on this board a challenge. Look at the way that in @5 bob immediately ignored all of my carefully qualified disclaimer language, used an eye-test example to refute my stats-based claim, and accused me of being Trump-like while purposely (or dumbly) exaggerating Mudiay’s age to refute a point I wasn’t even making.

the stats are pretty obviously in Mudiay’s favor on both ends.

His defensive stats obviously put him ahead of Frank? I’m not debating this is true, but if it is, it surely is a product of small sample size or just a bad defensive stat. Frank has been putrid on offense, especially as a PG, but his defense (although I feel that it’s somewhat overrated on this board) has definitely been better than Mudiay’s (eye test alert!).

I hate to say it, but based solely on what we’ve seen this year, Mudiay is a better PG prospect than Frank. Small sample size for Mudiay, of course, and he might regress when that 3-pointer stops falling. But at this point, the stats are pretty obviously in Mudiay’s favor on both ends.

@3…. so you believe a 23 yr old Mudiay is a better prospect than a 20 year old Frank? Did you watch them both play defense last night? Frank completely undressed Tre early last night and and he has a pretty impressive handle and quickness.

I am not a fan of Mudiay, and when Fizdale said “We will fix you” about him I thought, that’s impossible, that is just good coach encouragement. Now, I’m wondering If he might actually get better. It’s a strange thought.
