I think motor means different things to different people. It can mean speed, like John Wall (what a motor down the court!) or constant energetic activity, like our own beloved Ron Baker. It can mean both, although that’s not true for either the Strolling Bullet or the Mopheaded Hustlebunny, who each lack the other’s particular ability/tendency. In neither case does it denote efficiency, which is something else entirely (in both these examples, for different reasons).
Zion could have both skill sets (and god forbid develop some efficiency with them), but then again at that youthful age with those muscles I would find it hard not to leap and sprint to the bathroom to brush my teeth. Time will tell.

What the fuck does “motor” mean?

It used to mean constant motion, i. e. a player overreacting to everything who hadn’t learned to be efficient with their exertions and thus wasted a lot of energy. Somehow this was considered a positive. “Look how he runs to the huddle during timeouts, such a high motor!” Similar to “scrappiness”, but generally useless.

It’d be interesting to see Zion matchup with someone with remotely similar size athleticism but there might not be anyone in the NCAA.

Unless someone puts LBJ in a time machine there might not be anyone in the NBA either.

Zion is literally perfect for the Knicks next to Robinson/KP but idk if the Knicks would pick him if they had the #1–unless the media pegged him as the obvious #1 pick–because we already have KP, Knox, and Robinson and our frontcourt would be crowded. It’d be a stupid reason to not pick Zion, because KP is injured, Knox won’t look like an NBA player any time soon, and Robinson can come off the bench, but I could see them picking Barrett over Zion as the THJr. replacement.

Though it also looks like you can play Zion at any of the 3,4,5 positions and it doesn’t even fucking matter, the dude is just that athletic. So you could just have a rotation of Frank/THJr/Zion/KP/Robinson and also do fine.

wow, so not only is Zion incredibly physically gifted, but – he seems extremely “alert” (dude has lasers for eyes) and very competitive (diving all over the floor)…

haven’t heard him speak yet, and, I have no idea about how he gets along with others…

I hope he gets a chance to go to a good organization, or, maybe even us 🙂
