I always found him to be an obnoxious, pompous douche, but man, that is brutal.

His crimes are so willfully evil that the punishment sounds fine to me. It’s not like they were using underhanded business tactics to earn more than was fair. From what I’ve read, he was committing wholesale fraud to pay off gambling debt. That’s the kind of person who belongs in an orange jumpsuit.

Sigh. Why does everything need to be turned into an offshoot of The Apprentice? (Isn’t that how we ended up where we are today as a culture?)

Is basketball not broadcast for entertainment purposes? Why bother televising the games? We can just watch the box scores in live update if what matters is the outcome of the competition.

Yes, I think it would be stupid if you turn it into the Draft Lottery, with the fake cliffhangers and dramatic music (just like we see on cable news networks), but the point of sports is to get a rise out of us emotionally.

The Apprentice dramatizes corporate competition, which should, to my mind, be a boring, dispassionate affair. This would dramatize a game whose very allure is the drama itself.

Top 12 teams automatically make playoffs. Next 8 play four elimination games. Top 3 seeds, in order, get to pick their opponents during a televised selection event. Remaining two teams automatically face off.

Little tidbit I learned from him is that the league is probably going to do away with conferences for the purposes of playoff seeding in the next few years (i.e. just a top 16 format, thank god.)

God I hope you’re not trolling us. I would love to have the playoffs just be the top 16.
