Maybe some more players will emerge during the NCAA season but I’m not seeing a lot of guys who look like a good fit should the Knicks fall much below 5 or 6 in the draft.

He looks like a dead ringer for Lou Williams. Slashing, crafty guy who creates his own shot with ease, has no problem using his body with finesse to create space, finishes strong at the rim. They have virtually identical bodies too.

Frank, Trier, Knox, KP, and Robinson.

As long as Knox isn’t a revolving door on defense that’s a solid 2-way starting lineup to go forward with. Vonleh, Hardaway, and Dotson off the bench. That’s before we add a draft pick and any free agents.

I would label thjr, Lee, kanter, 6th men before trier.

So Trier, because he’s on a two-way, isn’t eligible for the kind of four-year deal we gave Robinson and Dotson? That’s kind of a bummer. But he’s been great.

It’s got nothing to do with him being on a 2-way; the issue is that we don’t have cap space. That means we’d only able to convert his contract to a min deal or use the BAE. Both those options restrict length of deal to a max of 2 years. If we had 1-2m of free cap, we could give him a Mitch/Dot deal but who knows, he might not accept that. Trier is not lacking in confidence.

If we convert to a 2-year deal right away, we’d have early bird rights (a bit more than the MLE is max we could offer him) at end of those 2 years. He could be worth more than MLE at that time but we’d be over the cap at that time and could lose him to another team. It might be better to wait until the summer and convert to a 4-year deal. He’d be a restricted agent this summer but the most another team could offer him swould be a 2-way deal. We of course could match and Trier would have to play for us or sit out the year.

Trey – Looks like Trey might be the sweetener for a Courtney trade on Dec 15th. When Knox returns, there’s no minutes for Courtney.

Trier – I wanna know who in org found and pushed ZO this summer because this guy wasn’t on anybody’s radar. I don’t think it was Gaines. Whoever it was deserves a raise or promotion. I think the plan next year might be to give all the 1 and 2 minutes to THJ/Frank/Trier (about 32 minutes each). I almost hope Kyrie stays in Boston.

Dot – Looking more confident and comfortable out there. He won’t be a star but my hope is he’ll end up more than just a 3&D players. He and Timmy are our best players in transition and he looks more versatile on offense than guys like Snell and Courtney.

Mitch – I know there are a lot of Luka fanboys here but I will incur their wrath by saying I would take Mitch over Doncic in a redraft. If you erased everybody’s memory cells and had them watch the game, everybody would think Deandre was the raw rookie. Mitch affects game on both ends. Need more PnRs but the lob-dunk might be unstoppable in a few months once players nail positioning and timing. And did you notice the anticipation and speed on those steals? Perry owes Mitch’s agent his first-born for keeping him out of the combine and gifting him that dirt cheap 4-year deal.

Y’all realize we’re not getting a top 4 pick? We might be something like the 15th best team in the league. KD and Kawhi could be banging on the MSG doors to play here. Dark cloud: Mitch could hit the rookie wall very soon. Looked like he was about to keel over early in the game. Hope he doesn’t have similar stamina issues to KP.
