On one possession Mitchell defended Levert on the perimeter and forced him to take a contested fall away.

He seems pretty comfortable coming out to the line to defend. He got beat a couple times off the dribble but that's so much better than the open three Kanter gives us in those situations. That's probably why Kanter isn't starting, that shit is ugly. Our defensive rotations look better with Mitch too for the same reason. He's not scared to leave the paint.

I like Kanter though. We could probably bring him back at 6 or 8 per which would probably be a value add. Nobody wants to pay for 5's that can't defend and shoot threes.

I hope WCS goes on to a great career, and that KP is at least slightly better than him and at most an immortal.

The way Kanter’s mood has switched makes me feel like he’s going to demand a trade in December. He is not happy about going to the bench at all.

Maybe there is a team with a far lesser player on a one year bloated contract that will pay a 2nd rounder for one season of added production.... a contract like Gortat or Austin Rivers......

Curry was also clearly making extra effort to pass the ball to Thompson, Durant and Green too... when a team that’s this fucking good plays like this there’s no possible competition.

On another note, the LeBron Lakers are now 2-5 after getting beaten by the self-destructing Wolves... I thought they wouldn’t be a good team but right now they are actual trash. Of course with LeBron teams they can always make a run later in the season but if they keep playing this terrible, the competition for places in the west will be super tough.

Well, it makes no sense for Kanter to be angry about meritocracy. He still played 26 minutes, which is 4 more than his career average and exactly what he averaged as a full time starter last year. Unless he really cares for whatever reason about seeing his name on the starting lineup, it makes zero sense for him to be angry, he’s being given his minutes (and playing against backups for an extended time which will really help his individual numbers). It would be even worse in a “meritocractic” sense if he played more than that while he can’t defend no one. If he wants to be an all-star then he should try playing like one.

And I mean, if he asks for a trade it’s not like it’s the worst thing in the world.

Enes Kanter in the post game comments said he wants to be an all star this year, and that’s probably why he’s so upset about coming off the bench. It’s not like the Knicks were going to send anybody to the all star game, but still. It would have raised his profile around the league and the Bucks could have paid him this summer.
