The article in the Post about Robinson’s agent indicates that the problem Robinson had wasn’t with the four-year, two-option contract, but rather with the fact that Robinson was advised to skip the combine. So that’s good I guess. His new agent John Spencer is kind of a nobody. Lance Thomas is his biggest client.

Robinson fired his agent, blaming him for the decision to skip the combine, which surely cost him the first round. I feel bad for the kid, even though it worked out incredibly well for us.

I seem to recall Perry saying that Robinson’s agent was a friend of his- hopefully Robinson doesn’t have someone in his ear saying that there was some funny business going on between the agent and the Knicks front office in getting a very team-friendly contract signed.

Yeah, that’s so weird. Both the whole “skipping the combine” thing and the whole “firing him after he signed his contract” thing.

I read that article and at the end I’m like, “Selby DEFINITELY should’ve stayed another year at Kansas”. I don’t believe a freshman should declare unless they know they’re gonna be taken in the 1st round. He didn’t.
