  1. Maybe that’s why he’s playing so much? We play fairly well until JR, Jason Smith or THJ enter the game — then it immediately precedes to go downhill. Aldrich should back up Dalembert and we should play 2 of sets up limit JR or THJ time on the floor

  2. Agree. We need Aldrich to back up Dalembert. Stoudemire can stick to PF. We need either THJr or JR to step it up at b/u SG. They’ve combined for zilch so far today. That’s the difference in the score.

  3. So I missed the first half because, well I figured it would be a disaster.

Can someone explain to me how we are not losing by an embarrassing amount?

  4. Pablo chacon and calderon da don looks nice. Also, phil needs to get Ed Davis if/when he opts out ($1m).

  5. JR has five assists and a plus/minus of zero, much better than anyone on the bench. I’m not able to watch, but i can tell from the box score he’s doing some good things.

  6. It’s good to see Tyson Chandler playing basketball again. He sure as Hell didn’t last year.

  7. So I missed the first half because, well I figured it would be a disaster.

Nevermind, Pablo answered my question for me. God I wish we could have had him when he was in his prime.

  8. Necessary Pablo tribute: Exactly five players in NBA history have at least 2000 career minutes with a TS>60% and Ast% >20%.

    Magic
    Stockton
    Nash
    Harden
    Prigs

If you up the ante to a TS > 61% you are left with only one. Pablo and Jose together are basketball meth, overtaking the Knicks old guard tandem basketball IQ mark from previous holders Mo Cheeks and Trent Tucker.

  9. What’s crazy to me is that Pablo 3pt numbers were not good in Europe if my memory is correct.

  10. Maybe these kind of games are just what we need, good team effort, another loss, more ping pong balls.

  11. you have to assume with this lineup that Fisher is trying to lose and that he is showcasing JR right?

  12. He may be in the bottom five NBA players. I litterally laughed out loud the 3 possessions before the cAlderon 3

  13. When the only reason you’re in the game is because the Mavs are 1-90 from three, you don’t deserve to win. Then again, neither do the Mavs…

  14. Hey …. Aside from STAT not being in the game now (i stand corrected) When’s the last time we saw a STAT pop on a pick and pop. I haven’t seen his J in quite some time.

  15. Yes, this 6’7 player with a 6’11 wingspan is really going to bother Dirk. Dirk is dirk but at least make it hard on him.

  16. Calderon throwing up an Amar’e smash. Take that Tyson bot. Tyson has been great as expected though.

  17. Who was it who asked the difference between Tyson and Dalembert? There you go

I’ve seen Tyson do the same thing. “I sure do like the way you guys bounce that ball off your heads”

  18. Things I am thankful for:

Chandler not winning this game at the buzzer jamming home an inbound lob over Dalembert.

  19. What a stupid shot by the Earl of Clutch.

I completely agree. It went in, but man what a terrible offensive possession. 9 times out of 10 that’s a brick. Stuff like that is what makes me lose a little more faith each time in Fisher. I was hoping for a little more outside the box thinking.

  20. That was great of JR to make that. But I just hate that I’m the man face and hisvlittle foot stomp and scowl after the Dalembert miss on the prior possession. Dude if you didn’t suck more or less up to then ….

  21. I want Fisher to succeed and I’m not totally sold that there are not ulterior motives. However, if he is truly coaching to win and these are his lineups, strategies and play selections then he is not a good coach right now.

  22. I’m with cgreene. I can’t believe Fish/Jackson haven’t had some sort of talk about tanking in some capacity. if Fish really wants to leave Acy and JR in thru the whole end of the game, AND call that JR iso BS at the end of regulation… Wow.

  23. Who was it who asked the difference between Tyson and Dalembert? There you go

Just look at the stat lines haha. Tyson just embarrassed our entire frontcourt singlehandedly.

  24. A healthy and happy (this one’s important) Tyson Chandler>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Samuel Dalembert

    I miss Tyson Chandler

  25. On the Chandler issue, there is no question that Chandler is an excellent player and we would be a better team if we traded him straight up for Jose Calderon or undid that trade. But Chandler for whatever reason (perhaps his disdain for Woodson) mailed it in last year plain and simple and that will make me hate him as a player forever and I absolutely loved him his DPOY year. Also he got sick (not injured) at absolutely critical times 2 seasons in a row and no one’s play cost us the 2nd rd series against the Pacers more than his (and JR’s).

  26. The Mavs didn’t win this game because they have Tyson Chandler. They won because they have Dirk (being guarded by Quincy Acy) and our best player was an unconscious Jose Calderon. Plus, we turned the ball over 21 times, 7 in the OT, and Stat and Dalembert were putrid.

  27. @78 totally agree. also knicks got 4 players for him 1.5 are pretty good right now. Jose +sam were pretty good tonight. They had durk we didn’t have melo

  28. Who didn’t think Tyson would go Tyson bot with Amar’e and Smith out there at times. I though

  29. 17pts on 12 FGA, 25 rebs (10 offensive) ,+14.

…so Tyson, tells us how you really feel?

  30. My takeaway form this game is that as much as I hate this team, I could really get on board going to war with Pablo, Calderon, Shump, Melo, & Dalembert. Then the lottery ball protection squad of JR/Larkin/TH2/Bargs/Stat can come off the bench to lighten the mood.

  31. I’ll say it. If melo plays tonight , this game isn’t close …. We lose by ten or more In regulation

  32. Random thoughts:
I’m probably in the minority, but I’m not a fan of the throwback retro early-90s unis. Also, I’d prefer the blue to be more royal (NY Giants) blue. There…

  33. @84 Yep cuZ with Jr shump and stat combining to go 14-39 fg 2-12 from 3 he would have slowed us tremendously. With his 47% and 41% avgs

  34. Well, it’s a loss on the projected schedule results, even with Meol, so I don’t feel too bad about it. Mavs are a top 5-10 team, so beating them on the road without our best player is wishful thinking.
I’m a bit bummed that Shump has regressed. He looked so good to start the season, and now his offensive struggles have reappeared. Too bad for us.

  35. Cgreene – I couldn’t agree more. Chandler’s effort level tonight really pissed me off since we never saw anything like it all last year. Also, Shumpert appears to have an extremely fragile ego. He seems to lose confidence faster than any player I’ve ever seen.

  36. Pablo and Jose together are basketball meth, overtaking the Knicks old guard tandem basketball IQ mark from previous holders Mo Cheeks and Trent Tucker.

Clyde and Dick Barnett say hi……..

  37. Also, Shumpert appears to have an extremely fragile ego. He seems to lose confidence faster than any player I’ve ever seen

I honestly don’t get all the love for Shumpert and the seeming willingness here to extend him at > 10 million a year. The guy plays to a WS/48 of .067 for his career and in this, his supposed breakout start of the season he plays to a WS/48 of .087

Jackson has him pegged exactly right by not extending him for “cap flexibility crippling” money. Should he play really well the next 90 days he can ship him to a contender for a nice pick, and if he doesn’t he can offer him 4M a year to play the Ron Harper role in the triangle moving forward.

A useful player, but not for a cap crippling price.

  38. Before his first day in a knicks uniform I knew that a ball stopping, chucking, selfish superstar was the last thing they needed. This is the best the ball moved all season.
Tough loss, but at least it was a good game.

  39. I know a lot of people, rightfully so, are angry with Chandler because of his lack of effort last season.
The way I see it, he came here to join Melo and Amare to contend for a championship. He found himself playing with someone who wanted to score more than win and rested on defense, a coach who was a dunce, and a team with no heart. It broke his spirit, just like it’s been breaking mine for the last fifteen years.

  40. Hoola-
If the Knicks we’re paying you 14 million a year, I’d be mad at you too for having your spirit broken and mailing it in.
