So far, so good!
Let’s see them keep this up as the first half ends and then pull away even further in the second half!
Let’s go Knicks!

I am very encouraged with seeing Novak box out better. Also glad to see Prig back after that wrist pain sidelined him. Also, the only thing worse than seeing an overconfident, out-of-control JR jack up silly shots is seeing an overconfident, out-of-control Novak jack up silly shots.
lets hope the new game thread doesnt jinx us
Chicago up 9 on Miami. Anyone know what time the Heat’s 18-0 run is scheduled for?
I sometimes forget how strong Melo is. Pretty amazing that Z-Bo is having such issues posting up.
its borderline magical when the knicks move the ball lol. gotta love the fluidity of that last play.
I’d say now.
I’d like for the Heat to keep this winning streak as long as possibly. There is emotional/mental/physical wear and tear that goes along with it.
Were the Patriots playing their best at the end of 2010?
Well I have no complaints
2010? You mean when the Jets upset them in the most glorious football moment of my life? I believe so. Tom Brady hadn’t thrown an interception in months.
When was their undefeated season?
It’s remarkable that the Knicks have managed to thrive (over short periods) without each of Melo, Amar’e and Chandler at various points this season.
Damn, I missed the 1st half lol.
2007 before losing the Super Bowl to of course the Giants.
Are you referring to the 2007-08 season? I’d say a perfect NFL season takes far more from you than a 33+ game NBA winning streak.
Amen. One of the best/worst things ever in NY sports history. Best because of how favored the Pats were that year to take the SB and the shellacking the Pats gave the Jets in their 2nd regular-season opener. Worst because it definitely helped lead Tannenbaum into inking a terrible deal for Sanchez just 2 years later.
Damn, time flies.
what the hell just got into camby??? jeezuz. as soon as you can play, you get thrown out. knicks need to be careful here
Baffled at how Gasol was not assessed a foul on that blatant shove down on Camby’s back. Also baffled at Woodson’s continuing experiment with Copeland at C position.
WTF has gotten into the refs?? This is getting ridiculous.
Well hopefully the Sanchez extension leads to the Jets’ drafting David Fales, Teddy Bridgewater, or Johnny Football. But back to the Knicks.
STOP FOULING.
Camby was pretty baffled too.
that was an excellent pass out the double to copeland from melo there. no need for heroes, just smart basketball
Nice. I was on the verge of complaining
It’s actually been quite suspicious from the very beginning.
cope’s game looks like someone playing in your local ymca. i do applaud his tenaciousness (on offense atleast)
Has there been even a single fastbreak for the Grizzlies in his game? How can you be so successful in this league without any transition offense??? And if their frontcourt duo of Gasol/Z-Bo is that potent, how can they be so ineffectual against an Eastern Conference team with a sorely depleted frontcourt that has repeatedly featured Copeland/Novak at the 5??????
Must ponder further…
He plays like a poor man’s current-day Paul Pierce.
did anyone catch that novack shove on the baseline? Lulz!
T’was glorious.
what was more impressive? the jr block or novak actually coming up with a loose ball and hurdling someone
melo has been awful in the second half. ball stopping at its finest. need to get the ball moving again
give it to jr. he def. has a hot hand.
Felton benched
yessir JR. keeping getting in the lane!!!
i really like tony allen’s game. great defender (not so much tonight). hits the boards
melo isnt shooting poorly…hes taking poor shots
Knicks look like they are running out of gas. Hopefully they can hold on for 5 more minutes.
Bosh just got posterized! jimmy buckets!
I know Shump has 4 personal fouls, but he really needs to come back in for Prig or Kidd.
Wow. Just. Wow. Melo with an amazing recovery off a nearly botched offensive possession.
yeah, i feel for shump. he is hot and then woody never really lets him get it going in the second half. hes gotten a lot of quick starts recently, then his final numbers arent that great
ohhhh boy
Kidd with a hero shot. His only shot. Ridic.
its kinda upsetting that the knicks let it get this close,
Terrible refereeing. Ugh.
iike Ringo said, it don’t come easy.
Rebounds off of free throws saved this game. Which is something no team should ever, ever count on. Somehow, Memphis could not protect their boards. Z-Bo being benched looms large. He and Memphis fans cannot be happy about that.
But we’ll take the win feeling like guilty thieves all the same!
Chicago up 7 late 4th qtr
he was 1 for 3 with 5 turnovers, playing like he partied all night.
Jeremy Lin with his third straight serious stinker, for those still paying attention there.
bulls need to put nate in there. got to score some points to win this game and nate, for all his faults, wont be afraid to go ahead and win this game
chicago with a decently healthy rose are a top 3 team in the east.
Lin turning it over 4 times in only 2 minutes didn’t help, sure, but seems more like the loss is Harden’s fault with his 6/24 shooting.
^ Supposed to read “20 minutes,” not “2 minutes” … lol
If heat come back here would be more impressive than Cleveland. That was a flagrant foul btw
Melo would’ve gotten kicked out
The Heat are the worst losers….lol
if someone did that to lebron or wade, everyone would cry bloody murder. i love how boozer stood his ground
melo would have gotten suspended cuz he would have argued in the ref’s face.
heinrich needs to stop laying it up on james. if you cant dunk it, hes gonna get it
is battier really going to complain about someone flopping? really?
six Ws in a row without Chandler and Amar’e, all hail Kenyon the Tattooed Savior!
Should’ve used reverse layup…but that block was ridiculous
chicago is a freaking zoo right now.
Knicks playing 2nd of a back-to-back w/o Chandler playing against a fully healthy Memphis team who didnt play the night before, I will take any type of win let alone a win where they lead by 28 at halftime.
Game…Bulls. Their crowd is insane right now
all hail Joe Budden
yeah, i must admit, im shocked by how much k-mart has shown. how could he just be sitting without a team for so long? he really plays better than his stats too. good win tonight on a night when melo had an awful game
Boozer is a dumb blonde
With just one play, Hinrich has become one of my favorite non-Knick players in the NBA today.
Isn’t the tattooed savior…JR?
its upsetting when your up by 28 and still need to use ur starters cuz you let the team waltz right back in. im def. not complaining about the win, just that sometimes our playstyle lacks consistency or we run out of gas.
We def don’t want to see the bulls in the first round
Deafening!! The streak dies …33 in a row lives
No love for Melo who, in the last 10 games, has been averaging 23 pts and 7.5 reb???
what is his Fg % doe?
These kinds of comebacks happen often, so long as we win at the end, doesn’t really matter. Memphis is a very solid team at full strength.
The one thing that really bugged me was Camby’s meltdown. He almost cost us the game.
Let’s not forget that this was the second night of a tough back-to-back after a nice road win. To pounce on a very tough defensive team like we did was critical, I don’t think we win a see-saw type of game.
It was a ridiculous double technical. Memphis had a great whistle most of the game.
Like you mentioned though, blowing out a 50-55 win team at full health and rested shouldn’t be expected on a tough b2b missing one of your best players. A lot of Memphis’ offense was created by inside mismatches.
Heat are such poor losers
Makes You wonder if there’s some built-up frustration from the lack of playing time.
Is this a good time to bring up the Heat are now 1-2 against the Bulls, Pacers and Knicks?? Heat still the heavy favorites in the East obviously and it will be shocking if they dont reach the NBA Finals but people thinking it will be a cakewalk in the playoffs might be overstating it a bit. If the Heat play the Bulls in the 2nd round and the Knicks/Pacers in the conference finals I can see at least one if not both series going 6 or 7 games. Not likely but definitely possible.
Im just looking for some hope :-)
Knicks now have the current longest winning streak in the NBA!! 6 down 28 more to go!! lol
It should have been one technical and it’s over with. A 3-1 free throw advantage until the final minutes was largely what kept game close.
There was not a 3-1 difference in physical contact at rim.
Well, for the last 5 games after his knee’s been drained it’s at 43.2% (even with tonight’s performance). It was abysmal when he was hurt though.
Gallo choke. gaming metrics doesn’t look so good in a last shot situation when your number is called.
Attacking JR has been the best Knick over the last 5 games
IDK, look at how badly they were beaten on the boards.
Ands that’s all i can remember from the game in Memphis the ridiculous whistles which caused a knick meltdown in the 3rd. Im also pretty sure a knick was ejected in that game too.cant recall who tho.
I still think theres a woodson/camby dynamic we don’t know about
If we got down by 30 to the Grizz in Memphis and came back like they did, it would mean nothing. When you build a 30 point lead, you’ve pretty much taken care of business.
Hard to argue with that. At the very least, it’s certainly refreshing to see conversations revolving around which of the Knicks should be getting their share of the credit for wins, rather than their share of the blame for losses.
Maybe now the Heat wont try as hard on Tuesday since their streak is over.
Very refreshing. But when the conversation is about the latter this board blows up like nobody’s bussines. I wonder why that is….
i have a feeling the heat will be pissed off after getting punked in chicago.
i think i much rather them continue the streak to be honest.
They play 2 games before the Knicks game (Sunday in San Antonio). Im sure by Tuesday they will be bored again and just waiting for the playoffs to start.
Wishful thinking. At the same time, while I am convinced the Heat will go into “Eff you” mode, I think that will bring out a level of chippiness that the Knicks will relish. So long as we don’t have three players and our coach thrown out for technicals, I predict a tough challenging game for all involved that will go down to the last minute.
As a wise man whose name rhymes with Fart Snot once said, “CAN’T WAIT!”
with San Antonio? Pop is gonna rest his starters again and take them to OT LOL
Pop is a beast.
I predict a double digit 1st half lead for the Knicks then it will come down to if the Heat feel like expending the energy to make a comeback lol.
@ Miami should be penciled in for a loss, winning would be found money. Looking forward to an intense, close game, hoping we come out on top.
The Chandler-worshipers have a lot of ‘splainin to do. Who needs that bum?
Nice of the Blazers to roll over tonight. SMH
Exciting times in the eastern conference!
well, I think the main thing we learned tonight is you shouldn’t watch. :)
Foreel, I knew the Knicks were up big during the 1st half cause I was able to check the score once in awhile but I didnt get home and sit down to watch the game until as soon as the 3rd quarter started. Was able to watch the entire game last night though lol.
For those who insist Shump can’t shoot, his shot looked pretty sweet tonight. He is now 22-47 from 3 in March.
I am SOOOOO glad we didn’t trade Shump for Jared Dudley.
he needs to get more second-half run, give him some of Prigioni and Kidd’s minutes.
Seemed like shump had a little extra tonight. Was actually able to blow by defenders on a few plays. Havent seen that too many times this season
Of course halftime now on ESPN and Wilbon mentions that the Bulls are the only team in the East who can give the Heat are good series in the playoffs. Brought up the Pacers, didnt even mention the Knicks.
JR with a funny quote:
JR Smith: “Everybody likes New York, especially West Coast teams. They don’t get to come here but once. That helped us out.”
sometimes we get a team’s best effort because it’s in NYC, sometimes we get their worst effort because they’ve spent the night before in NYC. tonight was one of the latter, we’ll take it.
Good, better to lay low. We have lots of telling games left: Boston, Miami, Chicago, Atlantax2, OKC. If we could win 3 of these games, I’d be OK, 4 would be dynamite and would guarantee a 50-win season.
Oh, Indiana too!
Threw on my recording of the game as soon as I got home. Kidd’s oop to JR was just beautiful. Kidd just reminding everybody that he still has eyes in the back of his head.
The blind behind the back pass to Novak is better
and Prigioni is OK as an emergency fill-in, but you guys who want to give him more run are crazy IMO. among other things, he somehow has no sense of the 24 second clock for a PG, playing hot potato with the ball way too often. I wish there was a way of debiting guys for not taking shots that they should, that’s as bad as a missed shot sometimes.
The battle for the 2/3 seed with Indiana is becoming more important to me because the Hawks are really pushing the Bulls for the 5th seed and looking at their remaining schedules its pretty easy for both (Hawks do play the Knicks twice). Obviously I want no part of the Bulls in the 1st round with or w/o Rose.
Looking pretty likely that the Celtics are stuck in the 7th seed, unlike many here I have no problems whatsoever playing them in the 1st round. Would prefer the Hawks but if it means getting the 2 seed and homecourt in the 2nd round I would easily prefer that than finishing 3rd just to avoid the Celtics in the 1st round.
We need to avoid the Bulls. Defense too good, and rebounding would kill us.
Finishing 2nd is the best way for that to happen. Stupid Rockets losing tonight to the Pacers hurts. Pacers have a back-to-back playing in Dallas tomorrow though then after going to Phoenix they go to LA vs the Clippers before returning home to play OKC. Would be nice if they lose 3 of those 4 games. Knicks are up 1 in the loss column right now.
Not exactly sure why a) they didn’t call a foul on Gasol and b) why Camby got tossed. This entire third quarter so far has had some batshit mental officiating.
Are they not yet on a 50-win pace? I thought they were. 50 wins would be awesome.
Great win tonight.
You are right sir. When a shot misses off a pass like that, it just looks wrong.
They are on a 51.5 win pace. Just need to go 6-6 to win 50, they have enough easy games and are playing well enough right now that I believe at worst they win 6, most likely 7 and possibly 8 of their remaining games. So the dream of a 50 win season is looking more and more realistic lol.
Jason Kidd refuses to make free throws after being fouled on a made three
he is such a basketball savant that he knew it would be better to miss at a precise angle for NY to get the ball back. :)
Pretty unfortunate STAT won’t be back for our final regular season meeting against the Bulls since I’m comfortable with the thought of having Chandler, Kenyon, STAT, Camby and Melo at the 4/5 positions and that being enough. I would like to see that in practice however before a potential playoff matchup.
I can’t see a Rose-less Bulls team beating Miami, but they match up well with us regardless and would definitely be a challenge. Chicago with Rose and a full strength New York team are the only 2 squads in the East that have a chance to dethrone Miami and neither would have great odds.
I think the Knicks’ ability to generate points from the post is probably more difficult for Miami to handle since their defensive tendencies to overload the strong side and pressure the shit out of the ball is susceptible to the perimeter ball movement off kick outs the Knicks have used to burn them the first two meetings. Even in the third meeting the Knicks missed countless wide open threes off of good ball rotation. I’d really love to see what kind of odds a healthy Knicks squad with an efficient Stoudemire would get against Miami in a series.
