I boldly predict that Frank will hit a three tonight. The Law of Averages is on my side.
    🙂

That Bulls game was such a downer, I’m glad Knox may get some good run tonight. That will give me a reason to get into the game. I want to see what he can do.

I boldly predict that Frank will hit a three tonight.

    3 points on 36 minutes? 🙂

Tonight is another one of those “means nothing” games. This is a notch above the G-League finals. The highest WS48 of any Hawks rotation player is .114 (Dedmon.)

Across the NBA, this looks like a boring night of basketball. What’s the marquee game, MIN-LAL?

    MIN-LAL

Which, according to pundits’ preseason polls, would have been a possible WCSF matchup. We here at Knickerblogger knew that Wiggins would continue to suck ass and 33-year-old LeBron couldn’t carry a bunch of scrubs to 50 wins in the West over 82 games.

The Lakers miss Julius Randle a bit. That’s a player I wish we had here, though Vonleh is doing fine as a cheaper piece.

The Lakers have a bunch of productive players and then they have Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram and Kentavious Caldwell Pope. They should be patient and if things don’t improve as the year goes along you can try to deal Kuzma and Ingram.

We here at Knickerblogger knew that Wiggins would continue to suck ass

Understatement of the year. That has to be the worst contract in the NBA.

Only watched a couple Laker games, but it doesn’t seem like they should be in panic mode yet. Offence is running okay (or at least as well as you could expect) but they are getting crushed on D. LeBron seems to be coasting at the end of the floor, but given it’s still November why would he be overly exerting himself yet? Chandler should help a little, but he isn’t the solution.

Hoping Knox gets a bit more burn tonight if we are sans Lance and THjr.

    Philly v Indy maybe?

It’s not the marquee matchup but I am interested in how the suddenly good Sacramento Kings do at home versus Toronto.

I don’t understand the Trae Young hype. We knew he could pass and score. The problem was his efficiency, TOs, and defense. So far his scoring efficiency has surprised me to the upside. I thought his TS% would be more like 50% as a rookie and it’s 53.8% so far, but he can’t defend a lick and is a TO machine.

Trey Burke’s career is in a death spiral after a such a terrific year last year. Now he’s playing behind Mudiay.

You can’t stop Vonleh. You have to let him get his! 🙂

All the players are huge from the 8th row

I’m in the black Knicks jacket 8 rows behind the Knicks bench

Have a great time at the game Silky. Of course they look huge, remember the East, it’s big man.

Atlanta is going to be very hard to out tank this year

Kanter, Knox, Hezonja, Trier and Mudiay on the Court.

That lineup should prompt an investigation from the league office to see if there was any suspicious gambling action against the Knicks.

A large bet was placed against the Knicks by a Schavid Schizdale.

The Knicks are calling this a developmental year. That’s the positive spin on giving playing time to terrible young players hoping they will merely be bad next year.

I wish they would at least play the young players that have a chance to be good.

I’m watching the game and couldn’t tell you what happened the last 8 minutes or so-just completely spaced out

Bernard King seems like very likable guy.

I chatted with Bernard at a season ticket holder event a coupla years ago. Her was awesome!

    @37

I don’t have a full appreciation of Bernard as a player. When he was at his peak I was at my peak “partying” years and sort of drifted away from sports for a few years. I wish I watched more of that period.

    @1

I boldly predict that Frank will hit a three tonight. The Law of Averages is on my side.

Who do you like in the first at Aqueduct tomorrow?

I know it’s still early in the season, and I know many of us are concerned that we might not be bottom 3 (and remember that flattened odds may indeed weaken Dolan’s Razor for us). But between the Wizards’ game, the Bulls’ game, and this one so far, I’m not so sure we don’t have a legit shot at bottom 3.

Brickikina looking a little better tonight.

    +1

    Serious question.

Does anyone (including the Knicks front office) really think someone like Durant is going leave the Warriors to come to NY to play with this team?

Granted, we’d be a lot better with KP, but still.

In other news, looks like Whiteside’s knee is feeling better. 16pts, 14rebs, and 8 blocks at halftime.

I’m predicting Knox will see some time in the G-League this year. Also- nice bounce back game from Frank so far.

Still very downtrodden that we have to endure an entire season of this.

Rebuilds are supposed to be about bottoming out and then slowly adding draft picks and other good players. You get better each year after bottoming out. The Knicks bottomed out to get Porzingis and have gotten worse each year since. We have a few nice pieces to develop due to drafting well, but we have some bad young players getting minutes. I hope KP comes back and looks good. Otherwise this is going to be a painful year without much optimism for next year unless something changes and a couple of players wake up.

Hope springs eternal I suppose. I could see a lot guys being intrigued with this team if we draft any of the Duke trio.

In a black jacket that says Knicks on it in blue lettering with a blue and orange Knicks shirt under t. 6 rows back in 120 but 8 (maybe 9 depending on how you count?) overall.

Knox just kind of floats around the court, contributing nothing on either end.

Fill in the blank – the one thing Knox does really well is _____.

(and you can’t answer “be really young”)

“Does anyone (including the Knicks front office) really think someone like Durant is going leave the Warriors to come to NY to play with this team?”

No one with any grip on reality

@51. It’s a gigantic joke. We are being trolled for sure. The guy left okc to go play with a top 3 team in the league. And we have a team where as soon as anyone gets good enough, they’ll go play somewhere else. Kevin Oquinn said Peace and good riddance.

the one thing Knox does really well is _____.

….shoot virtually every time he gets the ball?

Knox is good at shooting. Not necessarily having them go in, but sure, he can heave em up.

    @pt

Are you the two seats right near the steps

Also I’m sitting 4 rows in front of Steve Mills lol

Um, Mudiay giveth (dumb foul on a 3-pt shooter) , and Mudiay giveth away (crappy turnover)…

    Why is Dotson hardly playing?

    (never mind 4 PFs)

I think watching Trier, and seeing what craftiness he’ll develop as his offensive game evolves, excites me greatly.

Should I tell Steve Mills to trade hardaway to the kings

Should I tell Steve Mills to trade hardaway to the kings

    Y E S !

If you could Brundle-fly Frank and Trier into one person you’d have quite a good NBA player.

Knox may be our 3rd best player out of this draft.

I am loving this collapse nearly as much as I’m loving this game thread

Fizdale lineups are good for the tank.

Bad call frank couldn’t move Spellman in a Congo line

Coach is not listening to my advice about he Mario-Mudiay-Kanter balsa wall q4 defense strategy

Did anyone else see Young’s legs flare on that long 2? What the fuck was that?

Fiz must have been watching the Duke game last night with some of the lineups he is rolling our today

Coach is not listening to my advice about he Mario-Mudiay-Kanter balsa wall q4 defense strategy

    lmao

Putting that combo out there makes me question Fizdale’s sanity or intent.

Hezonja is very talented while being a very bad player.

Dotson’s “D” has been suspect tonight.

    We need Baker out there!!!!

If Hardaway wasn’t such a pinhead he’d be a very good offensive player. He got a lot better.

Tim Hardaway doesn’t wanna give the people free Chik-Fil-a

Yes Timmy, good shot selection up 6 with 20 seconds on the shot clock.

I’d love to know what’s going on his head. Actually I do, but I’m usually medicated when I feel like that.

It’s pretty sad that they’re showing a highlight reel of made Hawks FGs at the end of a loss

Fun fact Ptmilo drinks Michelob Ultra, at least at Hawks games

Looking forward to more detailed comments from Silky and ptmilo about how our rough ryders looked up close.

And at least we can beat the Hawks.

While Mudiay still sucks he’s working much harder on defense than he did in the past. Last year he just died on every screen and while he still doesn’t do a great job avoiding screens a la Frank he’s generally done a good job hustling to get into the play. He’s had a bunch of deflections/ forced turnovers. And, of course, a few really bad fouls too. Still think he winds up in Europe next year.

Fun fact Ptmilo drinks Michelob Ultra, at least at Hawks games

years of credibility undone in a single comment

Fun fact Ptmilo drinks Michelob Ultra, at least at Hawks games

I think that’s the house beer at the arena- they ran an annoying commercial with the annoying Jami Gertz where she was holding two of them.

Defense #1: wife bought the beers inside without due care

Distraction/Defense #2: I sat behind Bernard King on a plane to SF few years ago when he was headed to a GSW ceremony congratulating him on the HOF. He humored me for at least two hours told dozens of stories and was incredibly gracious throughout.

One good news for the tank is that not only are the Grizzlies not tanking at all, but they might actually be good. Jaren Jackson Jr. just had a great game and they beat the Nuggets to improve to 6-4.

The Knicks bottomed out to get Porzingis and have gotten worse each year since.

The Knicks “bottomed out to get Porzingis” by locking down their most valuable trade asset to a Mega Max extension along with a no trade clause and trading their second most valuable trade asset for Jose Calderon and Samuel Dalembart. In other words, they did not bottom out to get Porzingis, Phil Jackson just misunderstood how shitty the team was and then, when they were 5-35, he then started dealing away players (when they were already 5-35!) and then as soon as he could, he filled the team up with short term veterans and then signed a bunch of long-term free agents and traded for Derrick Rose.

The Knicks have tried “bottoming out” for one season – this one. And they’re already planning on signing a max free agent as soon as next season!

it’s true that for only this season has it been the Knicks stated goal to completely rebuild. But even without trying to totally rebuild, they did somewhat rebuild through the draft anyway, because they were so bad anyway. So it’s not totally unreasonable to think they might be at the right stage to go after free agents next summer. Their timing sucks, however. There is going to be so much money chasing free agents in 2019, that it’s hard to imagine they will get a good deal, and they could easily blow their wad and not actually get anyone very helpful.
