EDDY CURRY HAS TO BE GONE FIRST... Curry is one of the worst players in the league... When big guards can post up better than an unruly fat and out of shape loser, its time to go... everyone can get a around him, jump higher, run faster, he has no instinct, no quickness, no anything except meat... he has been the worst piece of the NY Knick puzzle since we've gotten him. FACT: The insistence at times to run the offense through fat man single handedly lost about 25% of the our losses last year... Listen, I have no beef with meaty players (pun intended) but at least give me numbers... Zach gives numbers... I'd even bet that Curry's attitude is horrendous... all he wants to do is eat and play video games... he's still a baby, he'll always be soft, he'll never be any good...

Knicks should have sent Curry to LA for the 2nd rounder... I hate that teams/FO's keep guys just based on the principle they paid so much for them... if they stink, cut em and get better at your stinkin jobs and find better players...

Our front office has been as inept as the Atlanta Hawks'...

As for in... let's bring in the Birdman...

Gone: Walsh and D'Antoni.

This summer has been painfully boring. I miss the trade first, ask questions later mentality of the former regime.

At least the Zach Randolph trade gave us something to read about (no offense to the 262 people who responded to the big news of the summer: "Knicks Sign Roberson")

Nobody could flip a roster like that Black Bitch could.......

Gone:
Eddy Curry, center: the lack of rebounding from such a big man just seems very, very wrong—it speaks of an apathetic and defeated soul.

Want:
Rasheed Wallace, Great American Hero: His frequent ejections would at least make the games entertaining and the Knicks probably won’t be any good whatever they do. His passion and fire is the only thing that might inspire the rest of the scrubs on the team. Also, he’s a Great American Hero, how often can you put one of them on your ballclub?

Just speculating, but..
a) maybe the media reports were inaccurate
b) maybe they are holding out for a deal where they bring back one or more good draft picks. A la Walsh and the Clips.

"The Nets are making a nice push to be the worst team in the league"

What was the reasoning for not dumping VC on the Cavs? I understand they want to sell a few tickets this year, but that contract hurts their LeBron chances more than the others. Contractually, he is their Randolph. I read the reports that they rejected the offer, but never saw a follow up piece asking the question: why?

The Nets are making a nice push to be the worst team in the league -- I suppose you could say that rounding up a couple of top-3 picks while leaving cap space for a run at LeBron, is a good strategy.

They just traded Richard Jefferson for a guy who might have been the worst player in the league last year. Vince Carter's knees and motivation are, shall we say, not improving. Lopez et al are decent additions but you can't expect much in year 1 or 2. Their salary situation is better than ours but the talent level is somehow even worse, IMO.

Six Knicks are in the room: Marbury, JJ, the other JJ, Zach, Q, and Curry. How do you use the five bullets?

Why is that NBA players cant escape the spector of gun violence?

Anyway, Shooting them wont take the money of the salary cap, will it? I think you should ask: "what would you do if you had a time machine?"

I guess if we were jump into the Delorean and erase a signing/trade from this time line, I would go back to stop the Curry deal (cap killing, draft pick eating, non-rebounding waste of space).

I would stop the Curry and the Richardson trades because I think they are the proximate cause of a number of deals that followed. Curry's awful rebounding contributerd to the Randolph trade. Plus it cost us two lottery picks that could have helped the rebuilding process. If you stop the Curry deal you may not have to stop the Randolph deal. I think that if you had someone other than Curry (or James) as your center, Brown would have had one fewer whipping boy in his lone season as coach. We may not have been as bad and may not have taken on Francis, which as you know leads back to Randolph.

THe Knicks got fat free JJ as insurance against Richardson's balky back. Had we not taken Richardson, we might have looked at a SF the year before fat free JJ was signed. Had that SF stayed healthy and productive, there would be no reason to sign JJ. Furthermore, without Richardson, we dont have Robinson acting his height (your average 14 year old boy) rather than his age (22).

Those trades may have greatly improved our cap situation as well.

It would be interesting to look back at all the predictions made by various journalists and see who is most/least accurate.

While not a journalist...I couldn't disagree more about the Nets rebuilding. imho they are making really good moves...especially if they feel they have the inside track to LeBron in 2010...then the current decisions look really smart.

To ask the question another way:

You have a six shooter, but only five bullets in it because you used one on Isaiah Thomas (you only winged him, but hell never return to his former seat of glory at least). Six Knicks are in the room: Marbury, JJ, the other JJ, Zach, Q, and Curry. How do you use the five bullets?

One thought: Two each in Curry and Q to be sure they are dead, one in Zach to put him on the Injured List at least...and hope that the two JJs follow Marbury in flight to Vegas, or where ever yellow-dogs go to hide out these days...

I think there are more guys I want off this team than guys I want on...forced to choose one addition, I go with Dwight Howard, but if you heard me wrong and I ended up with LeBron or Chris Paul due to the mis-communication, I'd live...
